Seriously how can Halo end now? With the release of Halo 4 there will definitely be an explosion of books, comics, and short movies(By 343).The Universe will expand, a lot. But should Halo carry on after 6?
At first I was a definitely on the No side of the argument. But after some thinking I came to realize that Halo is a Universe, not just a game anymore. After watching The Return I understood the yes side. With so much lore and so many stories to tell I came to the conclusion that Halo does not have to end, and I also see that it doesn’t have to be milked either.
If every main and spin-off Halo game (after 4) focused on other characters besides Chief people will begin to see the full scale of the Haloverse. I love Chief and he’s my second favorite character, but if 343 created or focused on other characters (preferably on different sides) they could really pull this off.
Even with the understanding of the yes side I don’t think it should end up like Star Trek/ Wars (20+ for star wars and 40+ for star trek Jesus!)
I do believe Halo should come to a fitting end. But how would you end a Universe? Not just some Universe, the Haloverse.
So basically the point of the thread is to get some speculation from the community(If you think Halo should not end after 6).
I want a movie, and if it’s not a cheesy piece of crap, then Halo has a VERY bright future, if microsoft invest in the money and come up with a goods script i can really see Halo becoming a AAA movie title aswell as a AAA video game.

Did any of you people really think halo with halo 6? It will never end. As op was saying, the halo universe is very large, and ending it would devastate millions. Also, if it does end, just remember one thing, 343 was garenteed to carry the halo franchise for another 10 years, and if they get bored with halo, they could just give the franchise to another gaming company, or if we are lucky, they will give it back to bungie. Another thing i wanted to point out was that halo did end with halo 3 like people thought it would. Out of nowhere, games like halo wars, reach, and odst came out, and halo would never be the same.
I think the precursors should return, finally give humanity it’s test, but the forerunner’s are coming back to life, the covies are regrouping, all out galactic war, the precursors release the flood to fight their battles, and it all ends with chief activating the rings and the librarian (Halsey/Cortana) collecting all the species together, ready for after the activation, at that point we realise that chief is bornstellar’s Geas and everything has been going around in circles for milenia.

I disagree, I feel that there will be no peace. With all that the Covenant has done to humanity over a mishap in their beliefs, Humanity will always seek revenge. And personally, I want Humanity to get revenge, I want ONI to use the Halos to wipe out those Covie planets.
