Hello there! I’m MagicBinkie, or as you may know me as, Champ 1. The reason why I’m posting this today is because just as the title indicates, the ranking system is a black eye on Halo Wars 2 and needs to be fixed for good. The reason why I even made this account is to highlight the issues of ‘smurfing’. At first it was funny to use low level accounts to derank people easier and as time passed, people noticed they could boost their scores if they have a smurf on their team. Also helping to prevent any point loss… Which is the problem. (Similar to what [Redacted] does on Twitch to maintain his rank while playing lower level people. His teammates would smurf with him every stream to ensure maxium points & minumum losses if defeated.)
My advice is to find a way to flat out delete any ranking below Platinum, or to implement a level requirement to queue for a ranked game in general. This would STOP any accounts from instantly becoming a smurf and thus revert the game to higher levels being placed against each other. Forcing them against a fair opponent, unlike if you play with a smurf and automatically get placed with a lower tier players, or even newcomers. (& to lose next to no points if you were defeated.) Let the lower levels play Team War for all I care. I didn’t write this to open a can of worms but to address the ones that are eating away at Halo Wars 2 like a Flood parasite. I don’t see why it can’t be fixed, or why you wouldn’t want to try. Hope my advice helps or at least gets some ideas in motion.
