How to download Halo 5 4k patch???

So this sounds like a dumb question but I cannot figure out how to download the new 4k patch update. All I can find on Google is to go to settings<system<backup and reset and then check a box to enable games to update to 4k…Well there is NO BOX. I also in another setting have a box checked to keep all games updated automatically. I just got the new XBOX One X today and I’d love for someone to help me please. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game to see if that did the trick to no avail.

sign into xbl, start the game and you will be prompted to download it.

I’ve tried that several times, i can load the story and multiplayer without any update being prompted. And now I know it’s not me because my GOW4 updated to 4k with no problem.

Same problem here, the Update never promt

Update: Just got off the phone with Xbox customer service twice. The 1st guy said I was full of crap basically and that there was no update and that the Xbox will just upscale…then later told me my console needed plugged into an outlet, not a surge protector and had me factory reset the Xbox. Obviously this did nothing…

The 2nd guy told me this is a known problem and is being investigated. And that this same problem is happening randomly to random players on random games. (Thanks xbox). He then told me that he doesn’t know when but it could be fixed in a few days.

Try doing a hard reset of your xbox. This made the update appear for me.

A small hotfix was released that adds some optimizations to last week’s “Overtime” game update to reduce the total file size. Today’s tiny patch should free up approx. 10GB of HDD space on your Xbox console. Going forward, anyone who hasn’t already installed the “Overtime” update will download a smaller update than what was originally launched last week. so from 107gb halo had a hot fix brought the file back down to 97gb with 4k assets. sounds like Microsoft putting their cloud to use for streaming the 4k assets so we save space on our hdd’s cleaver thinking!

Thank you very much for the very detailed response, that is a great idea to save space! Now I just wonder why it takes 97gb on my xb1x and 103gb on my regular xb1, and when i try to transfee that data it only transfers the 97 from my xb1…weird.

Anyone know how big this patch is? Not sure if I have it or not…

Please don’t revive old topics thanks
