As we all know, or some of us know that the new JiP (Join in Progress) feature for War Games Matchmaking is complete garbage and doesn’t belong in Halo. Well, I’m here to fix that problem so you will never have to put up with one again… Ever.
When the game you have selected is currently searching for players, do take note on how the player cards fill up. Do you see “Incoming” or do you just see other player cards fill up the screen? If you’re seeing “Incoming” on the anonymous player cards, then you’re about to get a fresh match, WOO-HOO! If you see other people’s player cards instantly fill up the whole screen, then you’re about to get JiP’d, sadly.
To prevent this feature from ruining your Halo 4 experience, do the following:
As the game is still filled up with player cards, you have a nice amount of time to press the start button, scroll down to network, then select anything but Xbox Live. Doing so will send you back to the lobby, giving you another shot at getting into a fresh match.
Just a note. If you are playing with a party, ALL members of the party must switch his/her network. Changing the network to a non xbox live one will remove whoever changed his/her network from the party

Well, I don’t like it. As I have already said, it doesn’t belong in Halo.

Yes, I encourage everyone who does not want to participate in JIP do this every time out of principle. JIP is the only feature in Halo 4 that is quantifiably unfair.
However, I would recommend to 343i (I know, they don’t care…) that they make it optional and not remove it. There are people that want to use it to jump into the action ASAP, and they should have the ability to do as they wish.

yeah that is the one problem with this trick. Great for when playing solo but in a group more of a pain.
> all you need to do is stay with the group you just finished the game with. no jip
Unless your lobby drops or shrinks to a small enough number that you get sent back into matchmaking. Plus I have been seeing an increasing trend of people leaving post game.
> all you need to do is stay with the group you just finished the game with. no jip
That is not always the case though. I have stayed in the lobby post game and,for example, many leave and I’ve had 3 or 4 of us stick it out…all 3 or 4 of us are then JIP’d! Yes, that is rare but,it has happened to me about six times…not many but, still annoying. However, I tend to leave the lobby post game, almost every game anyway.
I like JiP personally, it fixes a major issue from past halo’s… Getting stuck on your own, when your team mates quit or or get lagged out. Yes, it sucks getting stuck in those unwinnable games, but it beats losing, (Even when you were already winning) Just cause some -Yoink–hat and their party decides to rage quit, or get’s lagged out.
But that’s besides the point, I’m not trying to start a debate.
Good advice for those who hate JiP. I know I’ll probably use it from time to time.
