Many fans in the Halo community have complained about Sprint and the lack of ability to disable it in Halo 4’s gametypes. Now, there is actually a possible way to disable Halo 4’s default sprint feature. This can be done all without hampering any part of the game, so I don’t see how this action or my post would be considered violating the rules. I hope I don’t get the Waypoint police to get me in some deep trouble, but here it goes:
All modes in Halo 4 have sprint enabled, with the exceptions of two modes; Flood and Lightning Flag (featured in the Action Sack playlist). Spartans are able to use their sprint abilities in Flood, but the Flood, the Infected Spartans, cannot. In Lightning Flag, all players are unable to sprint but this is made up for with their fast movement speeds.
In order to disable sprint, you will have to accomplish this through the Lightning Flag gametype in Action Sack. You will also need;
An internet connection, along with access to Xbox LIVE
A Hard Drive or other form of memory storage
Play Lightning Flag in the Action Sack playlist and notice how bumping your sticks will not cause your Spartan to sprint as it normally does. Once your intense game of Lightning Flag is over, save 343 Industries’ Lightning Flag gametype through opening up your Spartan Hub, and accessing temporary history in Gametypes. Lightning Flag should be there for you to download. You can also grab the Lightning Flag through 343 Industries/Halo Waypoint’s File Share.
Now that you have Lightning Flag saved, you will be able to make changes to it through Halo 4’s Custom Games options. Disabled sprint, and weapon tuning is something that the player cannot control. This behaves in a similar way as to how we needed to download the specially weapon-tuned gametypes if we were to play with the weapon-tuning update, including the 4-shot kill BR. Halo 4’s Battle Rifle at launch, took at least 5 shots to kill and it would be impossible for us to increase the damage to a 4-shot with the Custom Game options.
With Lightning Flag, you can now edit the gametype to your liking. I recommend downloading the Halo 4 maps that were used in Legendary Slayer if you are looking for something closer to the classic Halo multiplayer experience. I am working on a classic Halo gametype right now and I can’t wait to share it with you all when I am done.
Unfortunately, there are several problems this method of disabling sprint introduces. This sets limits to us being able to make a truly Classic gametype.
Problems with this method of disabling Sprint:
Disabling Sprint through Lightning Flag will only allow you to make a no-sprint CTF gametype.
All Halo 4 maps were designed from the ground-up to accommodate sprint. The maps may not play as well without it, or play as they are supposed to.
Flag carriers are able to use weapons while carrying the Flag. This cannot be disabled. However, to counter this, you can set the damage modifier to zero. This may result in the melee damage being reduced to zero as well, an unpleasant side effect.
Additional note: Flag carriers cannot pick up weapons, armor abilities, grenades, or power ups.
Although you can enable Shields in this gametype, your shield display will always display a depleted, empty shield bar. This is because Lightning Flag was designed by 343i to not include our Spartans’ shielding. This is a MAJOR disappointment and drawback for the gametype.
Will update with new reported problems, info, and hopefully, resolutions. Let us all hope for the best.

And I also don’t want my Ketchup (armor abilities) lettuce (perks) onions (personal ordnance) or tomatoes (pick your guns) taken away either.

Your becoming more and more unlikeable with each post aren’t ya?
Any, focusing on topic, this looks like a pretty interesting glitch, I’ll try it out…
Even though I personally like sprint, it gives me more momentum which helps I. Trick jumps and going agro

i complete disagree with this. so you put more cover in using the map editor. i don’t know if you guys have heard of it, but it is called Forge. has been around since halo 3, it is a pretty powerful tool. it is CRAZY to me that no one has thought of doing this. oh wait they did. on solace in double team. the variant there is smaller. more condensed. so you know it can be done.
also with the no sprint they ought to reduce the motion tracker to 25 meters. it is currently 40 meters and i am pretty sure sprint played a part in the enbiggening of it. that alone is a BIG reason to get rid of sprint.

Maybe you should try a Battlefield burger instead of overdoing the Halo sandwich

Sorry, but I have no idea what you’re talking about…
You can reduce the range of the sensor, you know? I’ve done it.

Sure, but in this case, the cheese is a slice of old mouldy blue cheese. Yes, some people may like it, but it can be argued that the cheeseburger would be far better off without it.
If they released a base-gametype for all gamemodes without sprint. We wouldn’t have to mod the damn game just to do a simple task, and it would show that 343i really cares about us.
And didn’t they do a similar thing with allowing the removal of instant-respawn?
