How to disable chat filter?

Why on earth are they censoring numbers? That’s like, what?

And yeah, if they’re not going to let us disable it, they at least need to loosen it. We need to be able to say things like ball in oddball.

I wanted to compliment a teammate, because they did something brilliant. Went to say “1000 IQ”, but 1000 is apparently equivalent to dropping the forbidden Naughty word.

I don’t understand the filters and they’re not just out of context, they’re wildly inconsistent. If you type 1993 3 times, people in chat will see:

  • YourName: ####
  • YourName: ####
  • YourName: 1993

It is just illogical.

Yup, this is busted.

I mean, why wouldn’t it be. You could have been trying to write 1000 (insert bad word here) which makes 1000 a bad word by association.

Seriously, why is it blocked? Why is the filter so gosh darn bad?

You can see this in action here: https://halo343.zendesk.com/attachments/token/eGkwB5jxNJVbeUG9yCjVEqXmJ/?name=Halo+Infinite+2022-01-17+19-15-46.mp4

I opened a support ticket but it seems that they rarely ever come back with “thanks, based on your bug report we’ve actually got a fix in the pipeline coming.” I’ve only ever gotten that once for the 50 or so open tickets I have.
