How to best prepare for MCC?

Hey guys, I haven’t touched a Halo game in months, and the last one was the universal disappointment known as Halo 4.
It took me so long to actually be good and competitive in Halo3 primarily and Halo in general. Since I’ve had so much time off how do you suggest I begin practicing for MCC? I’m not going back to the times of my first online games of halo 2 (after getting XBL in 06) and getting spanked every match. I need to make sure my strafe is crisp and my reticle is glued to the opponents head! If it matters I have a MacBook Air and the X1. Could definitely get access to a 360 if need be.

I’m assuming most will suggest simply getting 360 and playing 2 & 3 customs, but I’m curious to see if theres anyway I could get some halo on my Macbook so i could just plug in my controller. None of that porting over the windows OS and playing halo 2 vista tho…unless its easier to do than i think?

Edit: Apologizing in advance since I imagine this topic has been posted previously. Hopefully it can bring up some new conversation! Next time i’ll search first

I’m just gunna be playing Halo 3 every weekend like I have since 2007.

When Halo 2 was still online (back in the days Halo 3 came out on the xbox 360). I would sometimes play Halo 2 and didn’t feel like I was having a hard time winning despite having played gobs of Halo 3 still.

Guess what I am trying to say is if you can’t play Halo 2 easily Halo 3 will suffice for your core skill set. Halo 1-3 are all arena based and sure CE has never been online but if you can learn good map control, aiming, tactical movement it will translate between the 3 games.

As far as CE goes if you have Halo CE Anniversary for the xbox 360 you ca play campaign and at least get familiar with the movement of CE. Or if you are like me and have the pc version you can dive into that, plenty of people still play it.

Yeah man I get what you’re saying. I’ll probably just hit up 2 & 3 and get some time in on them both. Do some 3 matchmaking and hopefully on halo 2 LAN with friends. I’ve been playing halo for a while (like us all) so I’m more simply worried about my slaying skill. like stated in the OP getting that 4 shot ready and the strafe fine-tuned.

I wouldn’t be too worried. So many new players will be playing it’s going to be a mosh pit of skill and if you have any ounce of past experience of Halo (like you do) you should be fine and be bale to warmup in time.

Stocking up on Mountain Dew and Doritos.
Wait, I don’t even like Mt. Dew.

BUY IT ANYWAY.
FOR DA HALOOOOOOOOO!!!

Oh, and I’ll listening to this over and over again.

heck ya man, gonna be trying to get those 50’s ASAP!

A macbook air is NOT a gaming computer, so I would not plan on gaming on it. Also I would expect a lot of the people playing the older Halo games are really good at them and have been doing them for a while. so Ithink you might just get “spanked” in those as well. There will be a lot of people who are not good at Halo getting the collection to get back into it, so the MCC will probably be the easiest way to win. Just try and remember the general maps and weapon spawns and ur golden

Practice by not practicing, at least that’s what I would say if you didn’t have your 360 like me lol. Even if I did have it, I wouldn’t practice. I’d probably learn where things are at from customs or just DEW it as I go along in multiplayer…
