How to become max rank in halo reach (offliline)

Ok you may think I’m kidding but it’s posible to become inheritor offliline ; if afked forge for 10mins you got 60 crs (at least now cause you used to get 50 ;and there scoring for the campaign if you’re new to halo reach scoring is when if you get a number of kills you got that many credits example : if you get 572 kills you got 572 crs and there are challenges you do in fact just by doing those things im already Warrant Officer Grade 1

Well your first method is basically an exploit for getting free cR for doing nothing.

And I think the cR earning is locked to certain limits per thing. Like Firefight for example…it doesn’t matter how many kills you get or what difficulty you play on. I’ve played a match for 20 minutes and played another match for 3 hours and regardless, I only got like 257 cR, and that’s playing offline.

I’ve also played campaign missions on Legendary with the skulls on and it doesn’t matter, you will still get the same low cR amount as if you played on Normal without skulls. Yea, it’s possible to hit max rank offline, but it is going to take a hell of a lot longer than if you play online.

very true

Offline blows

However, you can mod your account (as long as you keep it offline) and become inheritor and gain access to all armor, haunted helmet, etc.

If you do go online for any reason after modding the account information, it will reset you to private.

As well as also run the risk of getting your account banned for modding also.

The thing that would not make this worthwhile is if you choose to go online thereafter if you do this legitimately (Not using exploits or mods), you will be seriously deranked and lose almost all of your cR when you try to go into Matchmaking for the first time due to Bungie’s balance system unless you choose to have a default Spartan, which is incredibly boring.

Outside of bragging rights, I really do not see any benefit of earning the Inheritor Rank offline legitimately. If you can do so legitimately, then congratulations for the effort (In due time due to this taking a rediculous amount of time), but then you have to ask yourself, what you could’ve constructively done with that time considering you did this offline by yourself without friends, and what other things you could’ve done instead.

Also, I do have to question the intention of doing it offline, because you can exploit in even more ways if you have a disc copy (Which I will not mention how as that will break the forum rules). Also doing it offline legitimately (Even if you unlock the proper achievements offline) will prevent you from unlocking the Military Police Helmet, The CQB Helmet, the Security [W] Chestplate from the Halo Waypoint Xbox 360 App(Unless you took your account online after meeting the prerequisites and going to the 360 Waypoint app), and any DLC Armor Content (Recon Tier 3 Helmet, Legendary Armor Effect, Elite Officer Armor, and Gamestop Preorder Multi-Threat Chestplate, unless you got them online first and then went offline) as long as you were to keep the account offline, which also takes away from doing it.

This idea seems pretty farfetched to me.

I did not initially catch this, but based upon your statement, I am assuming you have an internet connection with LIVE Silver when you state challenges? You should be able to have daily and weekly challenges load if you do this, where the ‘Kill 100/200 of anything in any gamemode’ and Campaign based challenges will be able to be accomplished, unless this was changed since the last time I checked.

If you are running true offline, then I assume you mean Commedations and not Challenges then as with no internet connection, you cannot access Daily or Weekly Challenges at all.

I didn’t knew the difference between commendations and challenges ; I was making that at like 2:00 am

that’s why you stay offline… and if you do connect to online services, then you will be reset/banned/cR restricted

nowhere did i condone the behavior, and i did say stay offline or negative things will happen.

my little sisters were private for months of playing with each other, and they were getting bored, what was i supposed to do? buy them xbox live? jeez people.

so basically, you will never become inheritor if you stay offline. cut and dry-- never.

edit: not COMPLETELY impossible, but a waste of time imo.

so ur saying if I’m online i will lose all my progress!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!??

Yes OP, taking an offline profile online (connecting it to Xbox Live for the first time) means that you will lose credits and have your rank reset. This was something set up by Bungie to prevent boosting. You can read more in the FAQ:
http://halo.bungie.net/news/content.aspx?type=topnews&link=Reach_FAQ#_3

> Going Online for the First Time
>
> If you initially earn offline Credits and then take your profile online, there will be a onetime check to see how many Credits you’ve acquired. If that amount is over 26,250, you will need to forfeit some Credits. This check is in place to ensure a level playing field and to eliminate foul play.
>
> If you choose not to authenticate, you can still play online, but you will subsequently appear as a default Spartan with a default emblem and colors. If you want to change your mind, simply reboot your console and upon your next foray into online matchmaking, you’ll be prompted again.
>
> If you have purchased shiny new Armory items, the authentication process may reclaim armor pieces in order to bring the Credits balance into a positive state. The end result is Armor + Credits = 26,250. No more, no less.
>
> If you have less than 26,250 lifetime Credits earned when you go online for the first time, you won’t have to worry about any of this complicated math.
>
> Note: Authenticating Credits does not provide any personal information to Bungie. It’s only used to track Credits per gamertag.
>
> Once you authenticate your Credits with our online servers, you will not see the Credit loss dialog ever again (unless you decide to create a new profile). If you go back to playing offline, the game will simply cap you at 1,000 Credits per day until you reconnect to LIVE. If you are playing while connected to LIVE, there is no cap and you can earn Credits to your heart’s content.

Well, that kinda sucks. What if my account was originally online but my Xbox Live expired so I had to play some offline. What happens when I go back online? (I haven’t had Xbox Live for like 7-8 months but I doubt I have acquired a large amount of cR since the amount you earn offline is so low and I didn’t play Reach too much offline for that reason.

If you’re account has already been online at one point you won’t lose anything (see the last paragraph). The credit reset is only for accounts that have never been online

Okay, that’s good to know, thanks for clearing that up ^.^

but what if used to be online but you didn’t OWN reach at the time and bought it while you were offline then be online cause I used up all my trial codes

By account I was referencing your Halo Reach profile. If you have never played Halo Reach while connected to Xbox Live then your account will be reset per the FAQ noted above as soon as you do. By this I mean having an active Xbox Live connection whilst also having the game loaded up

but what if it was downloading online and was done while you were disconnected from the internet
