How to Balance the Playlists

So obviously my opinions are never really very well liked, I’ve come to accept that, so I’ve decided perhaps that I should atleast try to bend a little and give the other side an olive branch so to speak.

So here are a few ideas, stick with me until the end.



Core Halo Playlists:


Team Battle:
-Team Slayer
-Team Covie Slayer
-Team Forerunner Slayer
-CTF (press X to pick up)
-Team Oddball (throw disabled)

Big Team Battle
-Same slayer types as above
-Dominion

Lone Wolves FFA
-Rumble FFA
-Oddball
-Regicide

Settings:
Map Placed weapons (and AA’s if needed)
Map loadouts (small maps get an AR Start, larger maps get a BR start).
Sprint disabled
Movement speed increased
Shield Recharge increased.
Loadouts have Resupply by default
Ordnance disabled
Descoping reenabled, if possible



Infinty Slayer Pro


Changes:
Personal Ordnance Starting Point count: 100
Points increase per Ornance: 40%

Personal Ordnance is limitd to AA’s, Boosts, Loadout Weapons and Grenades.

Set starting Loadouts:

Primary Weapon: Assault Rifle
Secondary Weapon: Magnum
2x Frags
AA: Hologram
Tactical: Resupply
Support: Ammo

Primary Weapon: Carbine
Secondary Weapon: Magnum
1x Plasma
AA: Hardlight Shield
Tactical Package: AA Efficiency
Support: Sensor

Primary Weapon: Supressor
Secondary Weapon: Magnum
2x Pulse
AA: Regeneration
Tactical Package: Shielding
Support: Explosives

Map Ordnance:
In Pro settings, Map Ordnance is no longer as random.
Ornance appears on set timers, in set locations, however what appears is still in a way random.

Pod 1 will be a Sniper weapon, but it may be a Sniper Rifle, a Beam Rifle or a Binary Rifle

Pod 2 will be a Precision Rifle, but it may be a DMR, a Light Rifle or a Battle Rifle.

and so on seperated into classes such as Rockets, Shotguns, Automatic Heavy Weapons, Loadout Pistols (which will always spawn near your base/spawn) Grenades and Melee.

Playlist split:
Ranked and Social

Ranked Playlists:
-Team Battle
-Big Team Battle
-Infinity Slayer Pro
-Big Team Infinity Pro
-Lone Wolves FFA
-Team Sniper
-SWAT
-Multi Team
-CTF (replace Infinity settings with Infinity Pro)
-Grifball Pro

Social Playlists:
-Infinity Slayer
-Big Team Infinity Slayer
-DLC Playlist
-Team Action Sack
-Flood
-Dominion
-Grifball
-Oddball
-King of the Hill
-Team Objective
-Race (if it can be created)

I believe if these kinds of changes were made, we could all get along peacefully a little bit more from now on.

You don’t remember Halo 3 much, do you?

Battle Rifle and Assault Rifle starts are how the game played.

It would be great to see something like this happen.

I appreciate the effort you put into this, Road Wulf, and I do like your ideas.

However, the 30000 people would never support that many playlists.

And it was bad especially when the inferior AR was voted for as a starting weapon.

I’m not sure about the AR starts either.

However, of all the people putting up such posts as yours on the same topic, you are the first I don’t have an on abjection with…other than the AR start.

Very good Road Wulf, you made a similar suggestion in that one thread I made.

Here is v1 and v2 of my playlist suggestion. V3 will probably be added later this week.

At first glance you have too many playlists, I’d suggest lowering the count to at least 16 as I believe that is the current number offered. Also, listing team sizes for the playlists would be helpful.

I’m willing to talk on the AR starts, what would be a better small map start weapon? Or should we just do universal BR’s?

Admittedly never played Halo before Reach^^^. It’s to late for this game though. If they were going to make it a long term sustainable game they’d have done these things 5 months ago.

Infinity Slayer Pro is what the core game should have been to begin with. It would make play dynamic without being completely random. Though I find your loadouts weird (AR-Suppressor-Carbine).

As for ‘Team Battle’, AR Starts and BR starts as options, edit maps to contain rifles.

Also, why is King of the Hill social?

Also, SloppyBottom has better names that make more sense in wargames.

…I like it! My only gripe is that you put Grifball as ranked when it is really a social game. Not much skill is involved…

Ok been “forcibly away” for most of the week, heh. Oh well, its what I get for being the bitchy person I am.

Moving on:

Few things asked:
KoH was put into Social because I figured that KoH FFA could be put in Lone Wolves if needed, and Team could be put into a Team Objective list.

Griffball Pro was put into Ranked, Griffball’s normal setting were put in Social. Since there is actually a Griffball League, I figured it atleast had enough credibility to warrant a rank.

As for the AR/Carbine/Supressor: I was trying to use weapons that would be normally considered on the lower end for kill times at the start of a match so that weapons like the DMR and Battle Rifle, when found on the field, would be more desired.

Number of Playlists: Honestly I was trying to make everyone happy with this, and this playlist assumes good pop numbers as a result of the changes, but yeah its stretching the current numbers a little thin. Like tissue paper thin.

I’ll keep going with the idea, maybe post revisions in Sloppybottom’s thread.

Ramir3z77: I also feel that Infinity Pro should have been a thing from the get go. Even if we still had regular Infinity settings, it would have prevented alot of the anger on people and given more of a classic Halo feel without losing everything all at once.
