How to adjust the shop for the better

Does the Mark V and the Mark VI armor look the same? Nah. One is bulky and the other is more streamlined.
What about the Mark V Bravo and the Mark VII? MVB looks more rugged and industrial while the MVII looks sleek and polished.
Yoroi is Advanced Samurai armor and Entrenched is Dieselpunk Trench Warfare.

THEY DON’T ALL MIX WELL.

Then by your logic, Cross core will definitely 100% fail because all of these pieces don’t mix and are molded to specific cores. If that’s the case, it further supports that we shouldn’t have multiple cores with multiple styles at all, and focus on a single core with all the aesthetics parented to the main core’s style.

Let’s see your Yoroi Kabuto on Mk5B then.

Cross-Core can work with plenty of cosmetics.
Mostly Helmets, Visors, Gloves, and Armor Coatings
Some Shoulders and Kneeguards can be considered.

And it also depends on the design of other cores.
I can see the Mark VI Gen-3 and the Mark VII having cross-core items.
What about whatever Laurette Agryna’s armor core might have down the line?
And the Lone Wolves armor core?
These all have a more sleek-advanced design to their modeling and texturing, so their cross core would be perfect.

But cross core beyond Helmets, Visors, Armor Coatings, and Gloves for things like the Mark V Bravo, Yoroi, and Entrenched will not be attractive whatsoever.

So basically you’re saying Cross Core works for everything but Yoroi/Entrenched which differ too much. That just supports that we should have less cores and have these armor pieces and helmets parented to MK5B and MK7 instead.

In fact, that’s what should have been in the first place so they have no excuse to keep selling us multiple core specific Coatings.

I would argue that we need more cores. But if some items are cross-core, it would make them more valuable for players to grind for.

Cat Ears are fun, but it sucks that the goofy attachment is only available on the Mark VII and nothing else.

Or, they could reduce the cores and consolidate designs to the MK7 so everything gets Cat Ears because they designed the Cat Ears for MK7 style helmets.

Come again?

What’s your point? It’s still a Mk7 style helmet in shape and form.

Just do a little photoshopping and you will see that the Cat ears look worse on rounded helmets, of which most of the Reach helmets and Yoroi helmets fall under.

… … that is literally Master Chief’s Mark VI helmet, not the Mark VII.

You have a point when it comes to Aviator, Firefall, Mark VII, and Mark V Zeta helmets.
But on the ISR, Enigma, Zvezda, and Soldier helmets; the cat ears look fitting.

It isn’t rounded helmets that is the issue. It is the fact that the ears are the same size and they want to have those angled-mounting points hidden in the helmet’s armor plating and not jutting out.
If they resized the ears to better fit some helmets, it would be a non-issue.

Go be an intern at 343 and help us do it for every helmet thanks.

They actually listen to their interns to a degree.
I had a friend who was an intern at 343.
He claims to have been the designer of the FOTUS armor.

Given that this friend is a Brony, FOTUS stands for Fist Of The Unicorn Spartan, and the description for the armor is all about coffee runs; it stands to reason that he is the designer… sadly.

Horn is fine and all but why the hell is it so long. I feel like it’ll just snap off if I jump into a door frame with it.

At LEAST let us have a unique piercing assassination when using the helmet.

I bet they would have made way more money, and had stable population. I have spent so much money in Breakpoint but the cosmetics are pretty cool.

So much potential and it seems like they literally shot themselves in the foot

Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six cosmetics FOR THE WIN!!!

If they copied Breakpoint, I guarantee you that they would put the Mark VI Gen-III Armor Core in there and we could buy it with money so that we could cosplay as Master Chief and Blue Team and… whatever team the TV show is called.

Bro you just named off 6 of the 9 possible armor customizable options as acceptable cross-core cosmetics. (Coatings, Helmets, Visors, Gloves, (some) Shoulders, Knees). Frankly, Wrists should work perfectly fine as well. So, 7 of 9, really.

Utility wouldn’t going from Mk. 7/Mk. 5b to Yoroi because Yoroi treat utility like a waist attachment (Katana Belts) while they other two treat it as a thigh attachment. Yoroi also has the skirt thing, so thigh pieces would just clip, considering the Gatekeeper shoulder for Yoroi already clip ON YOROI, I doubt 343 cares.

Chest is really the only piece that would look horrible with cross-core. But 343 already solved that By making every chest undesirable because they don’t change color with the coatings and remain grey.

But even if we never get complete cross-core, helmets, visors and coatings absolutely should be cross-core.

Also we need cross-core/helmet helmet attachments. Using the helmet glitch you can actually see what some of the “forbidden combinations” look like. It would also be neat to wear 2 or more attachments and have them separated into groups like:

  • Crown (top of the head)
  • Mouth (Bottom of helmet)
  • Left/Right Ear (Sides)
  • Visor (Front/Things that cover the visor)

Reach let us do it (sort of).

Y’all remember 2009 black ops 1? COD points?
COD points were lit. You could buy camos, guns, attachments.
And you got them from just playing, and could get a lot more by being good at the game and winning wager matches.

Y’all remember how FUN that game was? Surely it’s not all just nostalgia?
How to make the shop better = remove it, as well as any battle pass or season pass.
Make max level 100, add prestiges. Have credits earnable and every piece of armor purchasable with credits (seasonal/holiday excepted, if they wanna have a holiday pass event for holidays I would be okay with that because it wouldn’t trigger FOMO) and different armors available for purchase at different player levels.
Introduce new armor pieces and maps with map packs.
Holy crap guys. Games have gone so far with their greed that I’m calling for them to bring back map packs. DLC packs.
Y’all remember what you got for a $15 map pack?
Now we have $15 PIECES of your CHARACTER. I mean. BRO.
Yeah we need to go back.
WE MUST GO BACK!

That just goes back to the argument “I don’t want to see X in my game”

It is a free game, people should be allowed to customize how they want to, after all, they spent money on the cosmetics.

Crosscore would produce some pretty whacky looking spartans, sure, but isn’t it that player’s right to do what he wants to with the stuff that he spent money on?

The best thing for them to do would be to go through and check all the different pieces with the cores.
If something fits, let it be crosscore, if something doesn’t fit, don’t let it be crosscore.

And for those who don’t want to see it, add in a toggle to turn off crosscore customization, so if someone is using all MK.VII armor but with a Yorai helmet, with the toggle on, they will only see the MK.VII armor and the default MK.VII helmet.

I actually was hoping that they would do this YEARS AGO and let us fully arrange our attachment setups on helmets.

The closest I got to this was a couple Fallout 4 mods that added Halo Reach MJOLNIR Armor and Halo 3 ODST armor.

If the daily bundles weren’t the same pretty much all the time I would be happy. The shop needs a lot more work to save it but that’d be a good start in my opinion.
