How this game survive so well?

I mean the game is ranked 27 on Xbox love most played that -Yoinking!- great for a near 4 years game you don’t even realize all the competition (other shooters) that h5 has encounter in his life.and I was wondering why halo 5 is doing so well without any big updates but MCC who is more supported by 343 have lost it gains in terms off ranking in this list ?I don’t understand but I hope that’s means that ppl are more into modern halo right now.

How, because it’s halo that how.

Warzone, or should I say warzone turbo. Easy to stay near the top when you have crap games like that world war 2 Call of Duty die out in a few months or EA games sucking off the life of other games.
I mean I put 51.5 days into warzone, and I’m not the only one. Many other game developers would love that kind of dedication to their game and they just don’t get it.
Other than that you can thank Microsoft as you will see Xbox one x, game pass and Halo 5 in one advertisement quite a lot. Halo 5 has been very prominent in game pass advertisements.

Disregard the Bungie-apologist above me.

The game survived because it’s good. It’s got a great formula that has managed to retain a small but dedicated hardcore population. Why does Proximitty and Reclaimer do 12 hour streams on this game? Why does Stress still stream daily? Because the peeps are there. And not all of them are English-speakers, too. The fact that I’m matching with MEXI service tags with spanish gamertags all the time means there is definitely a vast but “silent” population of Mexican Halo players out there. Why do you think Xbox did their X018 presentation in Mexico City? Just cause you hear these angry MCC nerds bashing H5 all the time doesn’t mean that the real Halo fans are out there, grinding, chugging away in the hardcore H5 playlists.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. I have never had a problem finding a game in Halo 5, weather it be warzone or big team battle. I constantly hear about much newer games where people have to wait five/ten minutes or more just to get in a game because the population is so low. Halo 5 is the only game I have played consistently since its release.

I would say Halo in general has a loyal fan base and new generations of gamers are coming into the fold.

27th really isn’t good. That’s maybe a few thousand players online at any given time. Furthermore old games doesn’t mean no one plays them, H3 still has a couple hundred playing it and it’s what, 11 years old now.

As for the mcc being lower pop even with 343s updates (and you act like they’re big updates lol, it’s nothing but stability fixes): like I said in mccs sales thread, people really don’t rebuy what they’ve played before, only a small fraction participate in that as most gamers want a new game. So it’s no surprise mcc is lower as it should be to begin with🤷 it getting updates doesn’t mean it should have more players (which is hard to do when those who were there in the games launch threw their discs away).

H5 still has people playing, that should be expected as so does every other older game. 27th however isn’t much to brag about as H5 isn’t above any newer game in pop.

Bungie apologist, what is that suppose to mean? I prefer Warframe over Destiny.
