This is so confusing, i looked at the Most Downloaded/Recommended and it always says no files found. Then i search up gamertags i see on youtube that build cool maps, and it says no files found. I hate this file share system, i wish they had the easier to use Halo 3 one where you can actually use it. Bungie Favorites was cool too.
I am on this forum for this exact reason. I have read some vague posts and it seems to me that file share is down until like january or something. I was so excited to go download maps from those awesome youtube vids as well and I just cant and its making me sad…
In-game custom searches are broken due to unspecified technical reasons. Most Downloaded and Most Recommended are really just built-in custom searches, so they’re affected by the problem. Recommendations and File Share Searches (for a specific gamertag) still work.
The lack of web access is a separate issue that was scheduled to be fixed sometime this month. The in-game problems should be fixed sometime in January.

I’m pretty sure the whole File Share system is down. Everything says No Files Found.

If it’s a Custom Search by Author, then it’s not new.
If File Share Searches are failing to return results, though, then that’s definitely a new problem. :\
Yeah I don’t think anything is working correctly. Whenever I type in any gamertag besides my own I get “No Files Found”.

They said in the Bulletin that they’d try to get things fixed by January… I wonder if they’re shotgun debugging.

Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to do. I enter the exact gamertag but it doesn’t return the fileshare.
It’s kind of sad they couldn’t have a file share system ready to go after 3 years of developing. Even worse that they wouldn’t tell it wasn’t ready, and only a month after the game came out did they mention working on it.

Even worse is that the only part they had working is now broken. How does that even happen?
Here’s how to do it. Send the tag a friend request. Then go to your friends list and select it. Click halo 4 file share. Voila! You can then cancel it or whatever. I have some good versions of the pit and guardian in mine so try it out on my tag if you feel so inclined. Tag is same as my forum name. You’re welcome.

Its extremely shoddy workmanship. Especially considering there was already a perfectly good fileshare system already developed and in place since H3. 343 tried to be smart–Yoinks!- and effectively “redesign the wheel”. But like a number of “changes” in the game, they failed to follow through on them and finalise them properly hence we have broken features that should have worked from day 1 without issue.
