Halo infinite should be delayed. Many have made excellent points why, and I’ll touch on some of the points.
Here’s how it should be done:
Postpone the game 4 months. Coop campaign will be ready with the new launch date, and 343 can build hype for two months for the release of forge while everyone enjoys expansive MP and a properly done campaign.
Reasoning:
It’ll allow for less competition with other major releases such as COD and Battlefield (remember the tragedy of Titanfall 2), both of which release not too far from the November launch window which infinite is currently on track for.
Also, does no-one remember all the sad stories of parents or friends wanting to play locally with their friends and family in Halo 5 and not able to do so? Let’s not repeat that, especially since earlier on it was promised to ship on launch and generates a LOT of negative PR.
A complete feature rich game was promised, and that should include co-op campaign (with forge being not far behind the launch).
Halo 5 launched incomplete and it’s playerbase suffered (the closest example, other non-halo games launched feature incomplete and look how their playerbase suffered too)
Bonus additions:
With the delay, we’ll get more MP content at launch. It’ll also allow for more flighting to be done to allow to get the more hidden bugs to get ironed out.
Better advertisements and deals might be able to be organised, leading to better sales.
Possible spanners in the works:
(Potentially, make what you will of rumours) Forge really is more than 6 months away from being ready.
Potential deals being made for november (advertisements, partner promotions etc) might cause issues.
People have to wait a little longer.
However, unless these are giant issues (really only late forge would be major problem) then delay is the right course of action.
How about NO DELAY, is necessary. The campaign and multiplayer are both complete. The majority of new and old players, will play Halo SOLO, if they have to. And no Halo game, that has been released in the past 20 years, have gone out of the September to December time frame. It’s cause the Holiday season is massive in sales, PR, marketing, advertising and shipping Series X’s with HALO not some stupid driving game. If they want to play co-op, they will play multiplier and be happy still.

If I can’t create and play custom games like duck hunt, griffball, etc at launch like I did in Reach and H4 and coop campaign like I did with HCE, 2, 3, Reach, and 4 then the multiplayer is in no way complete.
This sounds like a great idea
Nah. I want to play the multiplayer ASAP. It is ready to go.
People who want to play the co-op so badly can just wait a few months if they want to and then buy the game when co-op is ready. Or they can buy the game day one and play either solo or multiplayer. It’s both fine with me.
Many people don’t even care for co-op and only play the game for solo campaign and/or multiplayer PvP. No need to drag them down only for co-op not being ready. XD
I know it’s not going to happen, but I’d prefer if they released multiplayer as scheduled and delayed campaign for 3 months to finish up co-op. I’m a solo player for campaign, but I can empathize with people who have a tradition of beating the campaign co-op for the first time with friends and family and don’t want to have the story spoiled for them while they wait. It drives me nuts when somebody spoils the story for a game/movie/book I’ve been waiting to get my hands on. I know somebody is going to say “they can just play solo, it’s not that big of a deal” but for a lot of these people, it’s a two decade long tradition. I can definitely see how that would suck to break and that it might sour the overall experience.
If the roadmap for the game includes more than forge and co-op then I don’t really have an issue. As long as the game continues to expand and hype up content every three months it will likely still be successful. There are many games that have been very successful that follow the same algorithm. Unfortunately if you plan to play Campaign Co-op or Forge mode instead of what is in game on release then basically the game is already delayed for you. I do not see any reason to delay what is already finished.

Avoiding spoilers isn’t always so easy either, I get plenty of people who will talk about a movie or show and boom, spoiler and by the time they’re told about it it’s already been spoiled.
plus playing co-op isn’t the same as solo, some people like me have played all the campaigns with a brother the first go around, I know some people have girlfriends as well that will play with them and infinite could be the first for me and mine👍 I already played the other halos before she ever got into halo herself but infinite can be a first time experience together for the both of us.

Custom Games and Theater are also included at launch. Split screen is also included. People crying about co-op and forge are the more deluded, if they think this game is going to be held back another 8 months, now that it’s complete and polished.

Custom games without forge is pointless, it’s just custom slayer and btb but without the matchmaking🤷♀️ Forge is what makes all the actual fun game modes a thing. Game also isn’t “complete “ if stuff is delayed, how’s that for delusion to you hmm?
