how the fleet of retribution was so efficient ?

Hey everyone !

how the fleet of retribution was so efficient during the covenant-human war ? they won the spacebattle of high charit againts thousands of Brute ships, They successfully prevented hordes of vessels infested by the flood from escaping from high scharity, and won the epic space battle of intallation 00 (the ennemy was 3 time more numerous) ! Plus, It is not like it’s a big fleet, with big ships… In 2552, the fleet was composed of at least 14 ships. Two were CAS-class assault carriers and the other 12 were CCS-class battlecruisers.During the Battle of Installation 00, the fleet was joined by the UNSC Aegis Fate and the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn. Not even a CSO class super-carrier !

My first question is how the fleet of retribution was so efficient during the covenant-human war ? But I have moar questions to ask…

-After the memorial service to those killed in the Human-Covenant war, the Arbiter was given command of the flag ship Shadow of Intent by Rtas 'Vadum and set a course to return to Sanghelios. Is it still the case, Or did vadum retook the command of this very glorious vessels that is the Shadow of Intent ?

-Do you know other battles which the fleet participated?

What happened to the fleet (and to Rtas 'Vadum) after the covenant war ?

Also,Rtas got command back of the Shadow after they arrived on Sanghelios, his fate after that gets discovered in a book series.(I dont know the name of it.)
Its possible, that that what we saw of the fleet during Halo2 are actually several fleets under the flag of the fleet of Retribution and just got dubbed Fleet of Retribution to keep things easy.

I’d put their efficiency down to simple superior tactics. If Keyes has the smarts to use one Destroyer to win against several superior ships, I see no reason why Vadum and his fleet couldn’t co-ordinate well enough for there to be a similar decisive advantage. Remember, too, that Covenant ship-based weapons are a lot more advanced and flexible than a UNSC vessel’s, so there’s more scope for tactical creativity.
Also worth thinking about is that for their entire time in the Covenant, Jiralhanae fleets were much less advanced than Sangheili ones. They’ve recently been given the technology that the Sangheili always had on their ships due to the gap left by the Great Schism, but are still getting used to the upgrades and don’t know how to utilise the more advanced ships effectively in battle. A Sangheili Shipmaster, on the other hand, would be expected to know his vessel inside-out.
