How the Created will return in Halo: Infinite

Hello there.
Some of you are probably wondering, “The Created isn’t going to be in Infinite, they’re being replaced by the Banished.” Well, I say otherwise.
I think they’ll play a massive role in Infinite’s campaign. Here’s how:
Does anyone remember the spookiest CE mission, 343 Guilty Spark? It showed that the Covenant is the least of your worries on this ring.
What if that happens with Infinite?
We all know how 343 have said they’re inspiring Infinite from Halo: CE, with classic designs and storytelling, but what about the third enemy that proves to be much more powerful than expected? We already know they did that in Halo 4 with the Prometheans; maybe they can pull it off in Infinite as well?
Here’s my idea: Halfway through the campaign, you’re sent on a mission to stop the Ring’s defences from destroying an important UNSC ship coming in onto the ring. Once you deactivate it though, a Guardian comes in, looking different (more like the golden hologram in Epitaph than the Halo 5 one) and very powerful. Prometheans will drop in and attack all that they see. They have two reasons to attack the Banished and UNSC alike:
a) The Ring must be protected at all costs, no matter who enters the Installation
b) Cortana has control of the Prometheans. They do what she says.

They’ll slowly appear more and more than the Banished from then on, and eventually, become the only enemy in the last few missions with snippets of Banished here and there. Much like the last missions of both Halo: CE and Halo 4.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this mess of a theory, and I hope to see you all later.

Could be, could be. Though to be honest, I’d quite like for the Flood itself to return^^ Also, wasn’t there some throwaway line from the brute chief how Atriox’s goals align with those of the Created? They’ll be in for sure.

I dig it. I get the feeling that they’re promoting the Banished so heavily so we don’t see Cortana lurking around the corner. Similar to how they focused so heavily on Chief going rogue so we didn’t see Cortana lurking around the corner. I hope it’s done better this time than it was last. The Created Arc needs a good entry before all’s said and done.

Something like this is probably how I think 343 plan to reintroduce them into Infinite’s story. They already have a looming presence across the universe based on Reach, and with Chief’s activity on the ring, no doubt Cortana would either keep tabs on that or just straight up send a Guardian/Prometheans. At some point, whether it be to some large scale conflict, some large detonation, or just the accumulation of conflict in the area, the Created are showing up on Zeta Halo.

From Shadows of Reach, we learn that Cortana and her Created essentially have such a looming presence over the galaxy that everyone is scared of them(except for some rather foolish rebels on Reach). So scared that they think even just saying Cortana’s name, which might be truer than we think, can get Cortana’s attention since she has AI literally all across the galaxy listening in and spying. Take the Guardians’ ability to cause destruction and ruin and the army of Prometheans by her side, and she’s basically as strong as it gets right now. Chief and Blue Team have a major conflict on Reach with the Banished that eventually will grab Cortana’s attention, though they left before any Guardian was sent.So yeah. I don’t think Cortana’s gonna be there at the beginning of the game, but later on when the battles start heating up again on Zeta Halo she’ll definitely make her appearance known. She’s already looming over the galaxy(at least the arm of the galaxy we’re in), so I think some in the Campaign will be more hesitant than others to send in any cavalry.

So if you want some spoilers from Shadows of Reach…

The Banished refer to Cortana as the “apparition” throughout the book which leads me to assume that the “harbinger” that you are referencing is something else entirely. My belief is that Atriox is responsible for bringing whatever this “harbinger” is into the fold. AND if you google search harbinger, it is defined as a “forerunner of something or someone” so take that as you will. I think Cortana will either be a looming presence in Halo Infinite OR she will be reeling from the team-up of The Banished and the harbinger.

Oh right, my bad. I completely forgot the actual term used in the speech was “harbinger” and not “created”. I guess I just took my speculation for granted. What you say in the spoiler section is quite interesting, too.
