I wonder how exactly Spartan Ops will feed into Halo 5. How exactly do you think it will lead into it?
As of now, it ain’t doing a darn thing to lead into anything.
I would expect the second half of the season to do something big and important, but I am pessimistic and I think it will do no more than have you kill Jul.
Basically not impacting the story at all in any meaningful and lasting way.
Spartan Ops can do a lot if they want it to. It can resurrect the Didact or it can introduce the Precursor’s test. Maybe we’ll find the Librarian or discover the location of other possible remaining Forerunner?
I suspect that we will see the introduction of the Sangheili civil war to the average player, and I have a feeling Jul will play an important role in Halo 5. The trailer for the second half also suggests that the Precursors will be introduced in some way.
In one of the recent bulletins they did an interview on spartan ops where they said there will be a jaw dropping moment. And Halsey will be more important in spartan ops.
waz stop being a Grinch.
Jul is trying to find the librarian and think bringing her back will be something the didact would like (which is an iffy stance). Infinity is studying requiem and noticing that it just doesn’t feel right. It seems that every human touch may be composing them or warping them elsewhere.

ZOmg halzey is the libarian reincarnate. As if the fact that the librarian told us that she is responsible for everything Dr. Halsey has done wasn’t enough of a hint.
Please note that I am not against that happening, it’s just that everything has been so linear and predictable so far, both in campaign and spops.
I want a legitimate jaw dropping moment.

Whait whut. How did you get this idea/feeling?
I HOPE Spops does something awesome. It has so much potential to advance the story.
I would say that SpOps has not been that predictable. Who really thought Jul was talking to Halsey?
Also where in the second half trailer does it suggest anything about the Precursors?
My theory is Halsey does something against the UNSC in order to get free and actually help the large problem arising that the UNSC seems to be not that afraid of. (Jul unlocking a Forerunner). I think most people on the Infinity are extremely cocky and over confident in their ability to not only protect themselves but humanity in general. Halsey knows it and is smarter than all of them. Im sure she will seem like a “bad guy” but Chief would know otherwise, and it will be Halsey and Chief teaming up for Halo 5. She would be his Cortana in a way. (But not physically next to him the entire way)

In the 2nd half trailer there’s a strange organic looking structure or artifact. We’ve never seen tech like this before so it really seems to point towards the Precursors.

Looks Flood-like does it not? The problem is that it obviously isn’t Flood for a number of reasons that I won’t go into now. That suggests that it’s a Precursor structure, as they created the Flood and I expect some of their technology would look similar to the Flood.
Oh right that weird structure thingy. Well I will definitely admit it does not look like any sort of structure we have ever seen in a design sense. Although some of the limbs remind me of the Promethean Knights. But that does not explain the rest of it and the color too.
I am pretty sure it is covenant who have always mimicked forerunner designs.
High charity was clearly inspired off the capital.
There’s a lot of people saying that you’ll kill Jul in Spartan Ops. I swear if you kill the leader of the Covenant, a guy with interesting background and motivations, in a little Spartan Ops Co-Op mission, I’ll be very upset. If we fight him, I’ll be happy. If we hurt him badly, like blow off one of his hands, I’ll be happy. That’ll show in Halo 5. He better in Halo 5, and we better fight/kill him there in the Campaign.
Anyways, OT: Spartan Ops will do something that will lead into Halo 5, if not multiple things.
I’m thinking it could be hordes of Flood arriving with the Precursor’s test for Humanity. But how Spartan Ops makes that happen, I’m unsure. Maybe revive a Precursor, that will realize the date, and release the Flood.
Maybe we’ll get Promethean’s to work for us. Blue Promethean’s. By having the Librarian AI help with that.
But that Scarab-Flood-Precursor structure thingy will have something crucial happen, at least. The song playing for the Trailer is “Revival”. Revival. They wouldn’t play that song just for epicness (though it definitely did that). So, what’s being revived? Last time that song played, the Ur Didact awoke. So, if not reviving, then what’s awakening? I’m assuming Precursor. Makes sense to have Flood-capable defending machines defend a Flood-like enemy. And even if not a Precursor, history shows that every Forerunner Installation has Flood specimens. Mostly for study. So, are we reviving/awakening the Flood? And while I would love that to happen and be a dream come true, I can’t imagine that happening this early. So, if it doesn’t hold a Precursor or Flood, and we’re not reviving/awakening them, then what? Master Builder? Nah, have two haters in the same world? Doesn’t sound smart. So, what could it be? So much mystery! Can’t wait! 20 days!
Either way, something will happen in Spartan Ops that will lead into Halo 5. Something.
