There’ll be some indicator or notification like “Weapon inbound”. Then, like in firefight, a weapon pod will fall down and land on the map. It then becomes a race to who gets to the weapon first and who can fend of the other players long enough. I have the feeling the location of the drops will be a bit like king of the hill in where you can memorize the locations in where it will drop into but the order they drop in will be completely random. Think of it like Invasion Slayer where everyone rushes to an area and has to hold it off from enemies. This could be really fun since it’ll promote more map movement and map control will have to take into consideration where the weapons are most likely to drop to make sure you get the weapon first.
I just do not want it at all. . .
The weapon pod is a cool idea, I just hate every other aspect of moving weapon spawns.

At this point all we can really do is make the best out of a bad situation

lmao
The thing is they are trying to fix a problem that Halo has never had. I have never played a game where I thought people were camping weapon spawns. Now they are just adding addition elements of randomness that can together significantly impact the game.

absolutely true. I’m just hoping how it’s done well enough to compensate for the changes, or at least good enough to be enjoyable
That system may have worked well for Invasion, which is typically played on large maps in more of a BTB style, but I don’t see it working for small-medium sized maps where there is a reason the sniper, rockets, etc. spawn in their respective locations. Rockets, for example, must spawn in a centrally located area where there is a heavy risk/reward aspect to obtaining them.
Gifting one of the teams with rockets because they randomly fell on their side of the map doesn’t exactly sound like the makings of good, competitive 4v4 gameplay.
So instead of power weapons spawning on a timer like usual the weapons are gonna be dropped in random places?
A little off topic, but I was wondering what they’re going to do for interior maps where drop pods wouldn’t work? I guess they’ll just appear in their locations, but at different times or maybe at a different location at a random time? Is their going to be something to let people know when they’re about to spawn?

They are spawning “randomly” on the map but I doubt the timing of it will be random

Pod teleports in?

Play Halo much? lol

If you know the times, why would you camp the weapon spawns? I’ve never seen a player I would consider good at the game attempt to camp a weapon spawn for a duration of more than 10 seconds.

Ok so since it’s random say in one game all the power weapons spawn on the red team side. Since it’s random that is possible. What the hell is the blue team supposed to do? And does this mean that there will never be a sniper at the bases?
I H8 H8 H8 H8 H8 H8 HATE THIS RANDOM WEAPON SPAWN IDEA. I use the strategy all the time of holding onto a power weapon when i run out of ammo and then exchanging it for a different weapon right next to where it spawns. I do it all the time with the shotty and this random crap would make it confusing.
You would likely be searching for weapons more and getting mad when the weapon u thought u were getting is something u don’t want (have shotty and sniper. use up sniper ammo, attempt to get the freshly spawned sniper, instead its a sword, wasting time trying to find the right weapon, having less fun).
since u cant choose your weapons like CoD u need someway of being able to semi-easily acquire the weapons u like using.
if it aint broke dont fix it
and call outs like “2 at sniper” wont work
Random weapon spawns + random spawn timers=
Unbalanced gameplay. You don’t need to play the game to find that out. What if your team is winning out of pure skill, but a weapon just happens to spawn next to or near the other team? It could easily turn the tide on a match you should have won.
Nothing good can come out of this.
Hopefully the drop pod includes a target locater for the lulz.

Thats what i was thinking too. I feel like while will be random, eventually we will be able to memorize its possible landing spots.
Most likely, it will be like it is in Halo old, only instead of the rockets spawning in location 1, it can now spawn in location ABC and D. This will force players to hold map control, and move though the map learning all possible spawning locations.
