Same as the BR (4sk or 3sk depending on how much aim assist there is and how big the hitboxes are). It should shoot faster than the BR but to compensate don’t give it a scope.

I was thinking the same thing.
It’s a pistol!!! gosh it should be more like th halo 2-3 pistol because it had no scope and it was not too powerful

Lets see here,3sk is just too powerful the 5sk with bloom made it very weak but the pistol with 4sk or 5sk with no bloom may be a better option here.
A little variety in utility weapons seems to make sense. Pistol for short-medium range, BR for medium, DMR for medium-long.
All 4sk (maybe 3sk if it gets much harder to aim again Halo CE-style). No random spread or bloom on any of them - 343 has already confirmed there is no bloom on anything. BR gets 2x scope, DMR gets 3x scope, pistol doesn’t get a scope. Pistol fires the fastest, BR is in the middle, and DMR is slowest. All hitscan (bullet leading is better, but unfortunately lag happens).
So basically the pistol can potentially kill the fastest but is the hardest to use long-range, the DMR kills the slowest but is the easiest to use at long range, and the BR is in-between.
This doesn’t mean they are locked into their ranges. If you are good at shooting the pistol long-range without a scope, then more power to you. People can choose what they spawn with and use what they are comfortable with - each has drawbacks and advantages, and each gives you a chance to fight off spawn.

Equal levels of aim assist/magnetism to the BR (This is the only reason the Halo 3 pistol didn’t seem to be balanced. Kill time was almost the same as the BR)
I’ll take the CE pistol any day.

Seeing how there’s no duel wielding in Halo 4 I’m sure the pistol will have a scope. Just like in CE, ODST, and Reach. I really liked the CE, ODST, and Reach pistols…
It should equate to basically the Halo 3 pistol.
I would rather see the pistol play a unique role in the sandbox compared to the Utility weapons. I tend to lean towards low damage, high rate of fire, 12 shot pistols such as the M6C and morespecifically the automag from ODST(but unsuppressed).
So I would like to see a 7-9 shot kill pistol with a 4x scope(with ODST style recoil), high accuracy, and a 12 shot magazine. As in ODST it would be a more of a long range niche than a true utility weapon unlike the BR/Carbine because of its low damage and small magazine(only one kill per mag).
Basically I <3 Automag. Balanced, lethal at range, bridges the gap between utility weapons and snipers perfectly unlike the DMR.

I never liked the automag much simply because if you weren’t getting a headshot it is UTTERLY useless. But I do believe the pistol should be relatively weak but not ODST weak.
If Reach did one thing right, it was the pistol, but take off the bloom and it is golden.
id say halo reach pistol but with a few more bullets and no scope. BR shouldnt have a scope either if they are going to keep the dmr but i know that wont happen. Honestly i dont like the br, dmr was a major improvement in my opinion it took more skill.
