I’m way late on the party to Firefight. I want to make sure I contribute and stop coming in 8/8. What are some next level tips. Anyone have anything beyond what XSKULL REAPERX put here:
It’s easy not to suck at firefight… at req level 3 use ghost, 4 ghost ultra, 5 wraiths, 6 at with ultra or tanks… also turn on wheel man at req 5… oni mantis or Hannibal mantis are good to use as well.
heres an easy way not to suck
use your req
you’ll be surprised how fast mythic warden dies when 5 tanks shoot at him
Always grab a level 1 warthog at the start of every game. Splatter, splatter, splatter. Move up to a ghost when possible. DMR shots on Knights special glowing bits are pretty effective. In the later rounds tanks and wraiths with the wheelman mod are the way to go. Only a few weapon reqs are useful due to low ammo but Spartan lasers are great for banshee bosses and plasma casters stick to anything if you charge and shoot.
I made one too! It’s dead now…

This is about as simple as it gets!
I’m rather good at it actually.
How to not suck at Firefight:
Step 1: Don’t play it. Just don’t. Turn away and slam the door.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: PROFIT!
Alternate method:
Step 1: Go to the REQ store.
Step 2: ALL YOUR MONEY ARE BELONG TO 343
Step 3: Profit (for 343)!
Alternate method 2:
Step 1: Get a decent fireteam.
Step 2: Use REQs.
Step 3: Profit.
My method:
Step 1: Start a match.
Step 2: Hope to the matchmaking gods that you don’t end up with a bunch of idiot randoms.
Step 3: Run straight towards areas where you know defend objectives spawn, even if you don’t know exactly what the next round is.
Step 4: If you have to defend an objective, shoot everything that moves. If you don’t have to defend an objective, also shoot everything that moves.

The best guide for the beginners.
In Round 1 kill as much as you can so you get to REQ 3. Use the suppressor against Promethian soldiers if you can find one, it’ll knock their shields off very fast, and then use your pistol for the headshot. Use plasma weapons against elites. The key is to hit as many enemies as you can so if someone else grabs the kill, you’ll still get some points for the assist. Grunts and crawlers don’t give you assist points though, you need to land the kill shot on them to get any points for shooting them. If bosses spawn in the first round make sure to participate in the kill so you get credit… lots of points for boss kills.
In Round 2 I’d recommend grabbing a ghost almost every time. Round 2 will usually just be low level bosses, protecting a base, or a mission to kill a lot of enemies. Running them over is the easiest way to kill things quickly. Also put a BR in your loadout instead of an AR.
In Round 3 you’ll hopefully be REQ 5 at least now so you grab some better loadout weapons (try to stick with precision only unless you really prefer automatics) and an armor ability. I usually run infantry in Round 3 if I lose the ghost and kill all the smaller enemies to make it easier for my teammates with REQs to work on the actual objective because it’s hard to tell what type of mission you’ll get, so I don’t like spawning in vehicles until after it starts…because there have been many many times when I spawn a Wraith and then we have to destroy Banshees. Never again haha.
In Round 4 you’ll probably be somewhere in REQ 6 to 8. This gives you access to the DMR if you didn’t get it in Round 3, which in my opinion is essential for quick kills. I usually spawn a tank or banshee at this point (unless my team is crap and I can tell we’re not going to win anyways, also indicated by them not using REQs of their own. Might as well save my tanks if no one else is going to help us win). If you’re careful with your vehicle, you can usually get it to last you into Round 5.
At this point you’ll be REQ 9 in Round 5, but it doesn’t really matter. You’ll have your tank or banshee from Round 4 and you shoot the bosses and their minions from a distance. If you lose your vehicle at some point in Round 5 it’s really up to you if you want to spawn in another vehicle to seal the win. If there are other teammates with vehicles doing a decent amount of damage on the bosses I find that I’m pretty safe to just go in on foot.
NOTE: If you spawn power weapons in Firefight I recommend avoiding sniper rifles since they seem to do nearly no damage against AI. You could probably kill some crawlers with a sniper, but even soldiers and elites take multiple shots, even if the first is a headshot. Good power weapons in Firefight are the Plasma Caster, Spartan Laser, turrets, and rocket launchers. Also I’d recommend focusing most of your power weapon ammo at bosses and vehicles.
