Capture the flag. The FLAG. It’s not dance around the flag. it’s not run past the flag. It’s not respawn and walk the opposite way of the flag. It’s not walk past the flag, slowly realize you were playing CTF and then turn around and get the flag. It’s CAPTURE THE FLAG. That is your primary objective. Keep in mind about your own flag of course, but you still need to CAPTURE THE FLAG. A rather simple objective, no? Unfortunately, not so simple. For some people anyway.
A study, if you will. Watch this fine specimen display how NOT to play CTF: https://account.xbox.com/en-us/gameclip/68f5d256-bce1-4bc6-a25e-03e59b78707e?gamerTag=Van%20Bur3n&scid=03a80100-9ff3-46ea-be76-e00e7fe465df
Now, when a fellow teammate has the enemy flag, the first thing to come to mind is escort your carrier. The game even tells you this through the announcer. It is ESPECIALLY important to escort your carrier when he is that close to capturing it. And it is ESPECIALLY important to keep in mind how little time you have to act quickly and continue carrying the flag yourself if your fellow carrier goes down. Very important because that flag will disappear in seconds if the other team gets near it. Absolutely no time for dilly-dallying or doing the hokey pokey, you need to GET that FLAG and CAPTURE that FLAG.
Keep in mind that genius wasn’t the only one at fault. It’s also rather questionable as to where in the world the rest of the team is while the escort is so close to scoring the flag. But please, people. When your have an escort carrying the flag and they’re that close to scoring, the only thing you should be dreaming about in your sleep are flags.
