While playing my microtransaction optional (that I haven’t spent a cent on) cell phone game today with my friends from work, I thought of something.
You know how people create accounts on these games (and on WoW), and turn around and sell them when they’re high level or maxed out? How would that look in Halo, if, you created a gamertag, and obtained all the REQ’s? With all the kids paying for the Gold Pack deals to get everything, you know somebody would buy it.
So, how much would you pay for a full REQ’d account?
Or an account that was simply max level (no REQs involved, if it were possible)?
Or, for an account with max level and full REQs?
Obviously, a lot of you are like me, and would pay nothing. But those of you that do use real money to buy REQ packs, how much would you pay for the above?
Personally I can honestly say there isn’t anything more annoying/downright stupid than the problems that come with unlocking more Reqs. Those with all/most Reqs unlocked have more choices than they need/want to scroll through in game.
And to add a new level in of frustration; the closer I’ve gotten to unlocking all the reqs (not including armor because who cares about that, most of them are just chromatic variants of one another) the more problems I have accessing my expanded Req collection. To be more specific upon launching the game from the Xbox dashboard occasionally you have to close the game and relaunch because something screwed up and despite having a perfectly good connection I’m unable to access my reqs both my unlocked ones and any unopened packs I may have. This sucks but closing the game and relaunching tends to solve it after 1 or 2 attempts.
The bigger problem is when you can’t use any loadout Reqs or Amor abilities in a war zone match because NONE of the selections you make show up in the next spawn loadout upon choosing the item you want whether it’s a vehicle, a weapon (power or loadout) or an ability I’ve been in games where I’m at the 18 MINUTE mark before any req selections start to actually work(and yes I had the req levels needed to use them MUCH earlier). This never happened before I started to really build up my collection and that’s when I played the most often so it’s not like I had an inadequate sample size in terms of games when I had few Reqs vs almost owning them all now to bias my opinion one way or another.
So sure, anyone who would like a less stable and more unreliable game experience should totally unlock as many reqs as possible or buy an account with them already unlocked so they don’t have to suffer through the smooth loading that comes with not having many reqs unlocked/available.
I’ve got 50-60 mbps upload/download speeds and no real competition for my bandwidth (80 ms latency average) so I’m literally out of ideas on how I can stabilize my game any further. And yes I use an Ethernet, because if I didn’t I’d be an idiot to complain about connection problems being caused by something else. I don’t want to buy another players account, I want to buy a dedicated server so that I don’t have to keep dealing with all the issues caused by a server owned by a company whose entire business is computing technology. But I might be coming down a bit too hard on Microsoft, this could easily be due to some esoteric issue which when traced back leads to my ISP.
TLDR : Less is more, trust me, only a handful of loadout gear is worth the grind, the same rifle with 4 different sights and exactly the same performance characteristics isn’t variety it’s padding to keep players from unlocking everything too quickly.

I don’t quite think this falls under that category - I mean we discuss the selling of REQ packs on a daily basis, which this is, in essence.

It is QUITE annoying how the warzone REQ screen is set up. You waste pretty valuable time every time you level up with your loadout weapons. There has to be a faster way to streamline it.
Who cares about max level? It’s a mark of how much time you put in. Buying it would be completely antithetical to its purpose. As for unlocking all reqs, it might be nice to have a lump sum to unlock all the reqs but it would almost certainly be prohibitively expensive.

No you’re talking about selling an entire gamertag that’s unlocked all the REQs. No different than selling 50s in H3, and violates both waypoint and xblaming ToU.
