So I’m sure most people feel the same as I do when I say that the store is massively over priced. Now I could let some of the prices go if we could actually earn some credits in game but atm it’s set to purchase through real money only.
So what is a single coating worth to you? (For one core)
What is a full armor set worth to you?
No wrong answers, dont judge each other if they put it lower than you as not everyone has a bunch of spare money to use.
If they are going to continue to limit to 1 core, I would say maybe $1 or 2 but if they allowed it to be used on all armor cores I would be willing to spend $3-4
Not a single penny. We always had the option to customize our colors as we please and the fact that I can’t choose my primary and secondary color makes this system inferior then on top of just having a worse system, they’re asking for money for it.
I’ll give them some leeway because the game is essentially free. They have to make money somehow, I had ultimate game pass way before this was announced.
I didn’t ask for this game to be free, and essentially it isn’t as they’re still charging full price for the campaign, so I’m getting the worst of both worlds here but that’s beside the point.
Colors are not the only thing they are monetizing in this game and while I begrudgingly tolerate the reality that microtransactions will be in any multiplayer game these days, they are still charging us for virtually every single piece or armor. Armor that as of right now was created 5+ years ago and in a way that’s less customizable, so that’s a tough pill to swallow as well.
Then the worst one is they are selling xp boosts for a challenge system that doesn’t have a reliable way to complete challenges and encourages teammates to match hop for the game mode they desire or completely ignore the obj so they can complete their own personal challenge.
In the context of the entire system as it stands, right now I don’t think spending money on the MTX is justifiable as it even goes so far as to hurt the gameplay experience of other people
If it only works on 1 core I wouldn’t pay more than 1 dollar. Unless for some reason it is the most awesome coating in the entire game and I would never want to take it off.
If I could use it on every single core right now and also on future cores? 4 dollars.
Being able to have those HCS armor coatings work on all cores and future cores? 5 dollars.
I get where you are coming from. The amount of purchasable stuff is disgusting and unfortunately yes, this is the way most games are headed. The campaign is free though if you have game pass ultimate which is honestly insanely underpriced for what you get with it, especially with the news that just came out that you are getting monthly unlocks and xp boosts just for having the ultimate game pass.
While I do love gamepass, I don’t view that as free. You are paying for limited access to it. If don’t want to have the gamepass sub active for a month, you won’t be able to play.
That’s 15 dollars a month, play the game for 4 months then you might as well have just bought it at full price, and you’d have indefinite access to it
It depends, it the coating just a basic color? Then nothing. They took out color customization of their own volition. I’m not paying for a basic color when past games let me choose three. If the coating is more complicated, and in a color scheme I like, then maximum $5.
Yeah, I don’t get how people can have this logic. It’s like saying you get a show like Squid Game for free, since it’s on Netflix, even though Netflix isn’t free. What, do people think Microsoft would put games on gamepass if they weren’t making money off them?
Guess it depends on the quality. I’d say like (this is in USD) anywhere between 2‐5 for coatings and 5‐10 for a full armour set. My main problem right now with the store is the bundle system and how fomo it feels.
The bundle system sucks because often times I’ll go in the store and see one item I’d like from a bundle like a visor colour for example, but if I want that I have to buy the whole bundle which has other stuff I don’t care for in it, so essentially I’d be buying a visor for like $10 and end up just not buying it because that’s ridiculous. I feel like they would actually make a lot more money in the long run if they let you buy individual parts of a bundle but then give you a cheaper price overall if you buy the whole bundle vs buying each part individually (in a world where that would even be an option). I think the way they sell stuff now ends up in a lot less sales because I’m sure many feel the way I do where they just can’t justify buying a whole bundle for one item.
Then you have the fomo. They have so much stuff locked behind daily bundles, you either buy it right there and then because you’re scared it’s gonna be gone forever after a day or just don’t get it at all. What about the people who don’t get on every single day and check the store? You could be making a lot more money from them if you just kept a collection of purchasable stuff in the store. You can add new things but then keep them available to purchase. Again I think they’re losing a lot of money with the current system.
Reward those who buy the full game and battlepass with seasonal customization exclusives and XP bonus for duration for season for those who spend the money.
And then 343 can spend that cash they earn on a fully functioning anti-cheat
Even if we are talking about those team skins I consider them practically worthless just because you can’t edit your spartan without loosing the skin and those too are locked to armor cores.
In order to make the skins actually worth a buck or two they would need to remove the armor core restriction and allow people to customize armor pieces with the skin on.
£2.99 is what I’d comfortably pay whereby I’d be happy to buy a few at a time if I liked them. Currently I have bought one HCS Armour Kit (because it looked good and I wanted something not default) and the Battle Pass. But that’s kind of me done for buying things in Infinite until stuff changes.
