I personally think Perks and AA’s should only be a minor thing in Halo. They should add a little bit of spice into the game and that’s it.
I think AA’s should promote skill, timing and intelligence, rather than giving you the ability to camp or abuse something.
E.G. Camo - The current version of Camo allows too much camping. You should not be allowed to stay cloaked and wait for people to come past you.
I think Camo should be more like the original type of Camo from Halo 2, where you get fully cloaked and stay cloaked even if you move, but it only lasts 5-7 seconds. It will allow you to move past certain places undetected for a certain amount of time. But if you shoot or take damage then the camo wears off.
This will encourage tactical movement and get players to think, rather than just say “Imma just camp here and shotgun these guys lol”.
When it comes to perks, I don’t mind the current ones, except the one that allows you to gain 20% more exp and the one that gives you the location of the player that killed you last, albeit for only 4 seconds.
I don’t think you should be able to get EXP boosts just for having a specialization, and I don’t think you should be able to see players that kill you because that’s kind of the game giving teams a help in hand when trying to kill the best player on the opposition team.
It’s like you kind of get punished for being the MVP.
All the other ones just offer you slight advantages like dampening the sound of your footsteps for stealth for example. That’s a good example of what I’m talking about when I say only giving the game a little bit of a spice, but not having much of a significant impact on the game.
Do you agree? Or do you think specialisations and AA’s should have more of an overwhelming effect on the game?
