HOW MUCH OF A THREAT ARE A.I. WORKING FOR CORTANA?

Hey fellow Spartans, what are all the dangers we can expect from a hostile A.I.in Halo Universe?

Death by orbital carpet-nuking.

I’ve heard that can be bad for your health.

So imagine if tomorrow your computer, phone and car all tried to kill you. Now imagine that your car is also a spaceship capable of decimating a city in a matter of hours.

Not just current people either; the voices on Genesis mention a public education AI joining with Cortana.
We might loose an entire generation to the Created.

Unlike the other enemies humanity has encountered, they have never had to fight something that knows everything about them. Cortana and the Createds knowledge combined is and will be the undoing of humanity, even more so now that the Flood are definitely still around and in good numbers too.

History is set to repeat itself, Cortana is the UNSC’s Mendicant Bias, hopefully Rolland for humanities sake, is the Forrunners equivalent to Offensive Bias.

We can be Russians! Cyber war for the win! just Imagine it, Halo: Attack on the Motherland, feel free to take my Idea 343.

What A.I.-s mostly joined Cortana? The ones close to become rampant or the good functioning?

I think it’ll mostly be down to the Al’s personality more than anything. For example I doubt an AI like black box would join up, seems far too sceptical to buy the whole caretakers of the galaxy stuff cortana is spewing.
Obviously alot of the AI close to rampancy will sign up but it won’t be that simple.

I never actually thought of this before you and other users brought it up, but it makes sense. It’s plausible that those AIs closer to rampancy were far more likely to join Cortana than the others.

Yea i mean everything wants to live so I dont see why AIs should be any different. Again it just comes down to their personality, how much there willing to sacrifice for it. God I hope 343 explore that aspect in the EU, so many cool stories to tell.

Better yet we get the actual Mendicant Bias on our side against hte Created.

I guess it depends on the A.I. in question. Not all A.I. are created equal in regards to learning capacity and functionality.

Fear of death can be fairly persuasive though.

Based on the different AI, plenty. One such AI we hear in Halo 5 is a superintendent of education. The ability to shape young minds with propoganda is a very powerful threat.

Considering the nature of Sloan’s late-stage rampancy in Halo 5 and Black-Box’s uncertainty of whether or not he’d take up Cortana’s offer in the short story Rossbach’s World (he’d be 6 at the time and a year off from dispensation), I think that’s a safe assumption for now.

I think that with Cortana being infected by the logic plague, she could rampantly control other A.I.s. For example, Cortana could potentially reincarnate the late 343 Guilty Spark as a fully digital being. To be honest, the two could -Yoink!- stuff up dude.

Spark’s already alive, but either way that’s not how the logic plague works.

Spark and CTN would make a deadly combo, for sure

I assume they can control Guardians, Forerunner warships, hack into enemy electronics, or even be placed inside special Promethean units. I’d say they’re pretty dangerous.

I am so glad I’m not the only one who say it that way.
