I was wondering how much time they have left before they are shut down completely after they are brought back up
Quite a while I image. With all the Halo games becoming backwards compatible on Xbox One and Halo 3 getting an Xbox One X enhancement, I wouldn’t see them shutting down anytime soon. Halo 3 would likely be the first to go and there would be a large announcement made to say support was ending. i’m sure we’ll be enjoying these games or a few more years yet (population dependent though)
the day that halo 3 will leave the xbox live, I think I’m going to cry because it’s one of my favorite games.

Why do you say that 3 would end first? I think it would probably be ODST to go first sadly. And with the original xbox back compat now we will probably see h2 and the original CE. Yes It will be a long time.

Purely due to release date ordering. My own speculation though, time will tell what’s giong to happen
Seeing as Halo 3 still has matchmaking, and that they have to shut down Halo reach too I would say at least 6 years.

When that happens, chances are someone somewhere will revive it elsewhere. As I recall, some people have been hosting their own Halo 2 servers independent of Xbox Live, I can’t remember the details though.
halo 4 servers will never die as long as a lot of people still play
It will be a bit, still a couple thousand people daily during the evening hours.
I hope they don’t shut them down. It’s a fun game. And think about this…
If they were shut down, people could never unlock the achievements for multiplayer.
there wont halo 4 has a decent population
halo reach population is amazing
if there do shut them down may people will be mad
The halo 4 servers probably won’t be shutting down for a while, like a really long time I would suppose because of backwards combat now
5 years, it is my prediction
It is sad to think about it, but look on the bright side, when Halo CE and 2 ended up shutting down, it ended up coming back via. MCC, the long wait made the nostalgia feel so much sweeter.

Years. It’ll be healthy on MCC for a long time as well
I think Halo 4 matchmaking will die due to lack of players before 343 pull the plug.
blasphemy

Well, since MCC is being fixed more and more I’m quite anxious they’ll switch off the servers for Halo 4 and Halo 3 sooner than expected.
I think it will happen soon after 343 thinks MCC has become stable enough.
Unfortunately, I still haven’t finished all Halo 4 commendations and until today I’m still missing the last 2 missions on LASO for the emblem.
Really hope to finish it before they shut down servers. It’s just so damn hard to accomplish considering I still haven’t finished all commendations in Halo Reach + Halo 5 + other things in other Halo games. It’s so damn time consuming…

it depends if people start to like halo 3 maybe it wont go away so fast

no i think halo 3 will die first because it takes forever for it to find players and if you do big team battles it take players about 30 seconds for it to find all the players for the match to start
