⚠ How much is 343i Going to Charge Us for Forge?

Theres no way forge will be free.
Whenever pve comes out, theres no way it will be free.
Coop campaign…I’d like to believe it would be free, but I’m starting to doubt that as well.

IF THEY CHARGE A SINGLE DIME…. I swear I will never play Halo again. Forge has always been free. It should ALWAYS be free.

343 probably knows better than to charge us a single penny for Forge.

For if they do, there will be a LOT of angry Sigma Male Halo Fans dressed up in our own custom-made and fully operational MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor ready to personally hand in our certificate of disapproval.

Mines made of EVA foam
But I will start a Rally in San Diego. And we will have pitchforks topped with energy swords.
I’m an alpha male tho so I guess I’m not invited :pensive:

I followed Dr. Halsey’s design specs to the letter.

I gotta be VERY careful when moving around otherwise my bones are going to be boneless from all of the sudden movements.

What model is your suit?

MJOLNIR Powerd Assault Armor Mark VI Gen-3 given some modifications aside from the base-line model. For example, I have the UA/CQB upgrade to my chest armor, the Rogue helmet, and the Scouting Shoulder armor pauldrons.

That, Firefight, custom game browsing and the campaign would be nice to hear about in an update.

Won’t be acceptable to me at all if they require Game Pass or the campaign.

So how are the other games still running?
They don’t have a Forge to monetize.

Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: GO, PlanetSide 2, Warframe, Star Wars: The Old Republic, etc.

They cost money to make?

It costs money?

Community makes maps → Players come back to play in new arenas → Players are more likely to look at the shop systems in the game to give the company more money.

No new maps = the game gets stale over time and thus less return players. Less return players means that you have less people to look at the shop for items.

DLCs made by actual studios cost money yes. But they also give you fresh content that keeps the game interesting.

I’m saying those games don’t charge for new content other than cosmetics and maybe XP boosts, but they’re still running.
343 has no need to charge for Forge.

I think most would agree, but it isn’t us that needs to be convinced of this.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if 343/MS did decide to monetize Forge…not so much Forge itself, but charging for extra props/building pieces etc

I don’t mind paying for DLC/Map packs etc like we always have…but if they do go down the monetization path with Forge, that will be the last for me with Infinite.

If they charge players for Forge after everything…RIP Halo. Suicide move. Unless Forge allows the best modding of all time and unheard of content addons and design potential.

343 only charged for Forge once… and that was the stand-alone PC edition of Halo 5’s Forge mode, literally called “Halo 5: Forge” on PC.

Probably.
It seems like Microsoft would rather scrap Halo than give us fair prices and a game with a lot of content.

Isn’t Halo 5: Forge free?
I just played it like last month.

Did they make if Free? Could’ve sworn that Halo 5: Forge cost some cash at launch so Skybox Labs got paid for their work.

I just looked for info about its launch, and it seems to have been free at launch.
