How much faith do you have in 343?

No faith at all. They have mishandled this game from the jump, and continue to do so well after release. How could anyone think anything else

I mean you could link online being the reason why mcc got fixed and ported to pc as they saw how many fans wanted to play halo 3 mp on pc with the el dewito mod after they got tons of backlash when they shut down el dewito

So for that aspect alone i would consider that a positive as it didn’t last long officially and had a positive impact it had on mcc and the modding scene in the long run

I should of expanded on that one as I was very brief and vague. There was an eventual net positive but I was more so meaning their handling of Halo online and Eldewrito and their ability to land squarely on a negative outcome every time, like a comedy of errors.

How MCC eventually turned out is a diamond in the rough, but let’s not kid ourselves, It taken over 5 years from release to get to the state it is now (on 2 platforms, stable and content rich) and in the process really lost a lot of potential momentum and retention at many stages of its lifespan.

I do say negative things matter of fact-ly, possibly even to the point it sounds exaggerated, but the 10 year frustration of a franchise that use to pump out 9/10+ games to 10 years of imo 5/10 games, is deflating.

I think it was a little confusing how you wrote your post making it hard to understand exactly what you were trying to say.

Halo 3 and Reach Forge do have the Flag spawn and Flag cap point separate. Bungie would just put them on top of each other so your own flag was the cap point. But some MLG maps had them slightly off from each other. (essentially still beside each other though)

I don’t like how every time you cap, the next flag is somewhere different which is what I thought you were originally saying. The flag should just be in the same place every time. It’s like they’ve added this difficulty increase on capping the enemy’s flag. This is only in Big team but still. Dumb.

I’m prety sure this SBMM change ruined any hope i had left for anything meaningful to come out of this company. I CANT PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS BECAUSE OF THIS.

Community managers are either incapable of giving anything meaningful for an answer or just don’t have answers.

Look at the bright side though, if infinite does fail it’s pretty much over for 343i.

" How much faith do you have in 343?"

Barely enough to post in this forum.

I feel like 343’s tenure as the custodian of the halo universe has been a bumpy one where we get an announcement for a game and then we are greeted with disappointment upon release and then over time things get better.

Examples include Halo 4 announcement vs actual game, Halo 5’s announcement and promo vs Halo 5;s campaign and the req system but then the game was slowly redeemed with all of the extra content added to the game. Halo MCC’s ambitious plan vs the launch and now we have extra customization and a custom games browser that we never thought were possible.

I think we’ve had the same thing again with infinite where the initial announcement was exciting and then the E3 gameplay had everyone worried and then we’ve had the poor launch with bits of the game missing and aspects of the game not there that had previously been promised. The excitement I felt when I heard the Joe Staten was coming back was amazing, I thought under his leadership infinite could be fixed and be everyhting we wanted it to be but I don’t think he was given enough time, but I think 343 are struggling at the minute and infinite is in a transitional phase where they’re taking on the feedback of the community and over time things will improve as they have done in the past, it’s just a shame that it’s been a pattern since the studio was founded and hopefully we can see a similar transition to what Star Wars Battlefront 2 where that game launched with a load of hype and instead disgruntled fans but over time it’s turned into a great game.

So all in all I do have faith in 343 we just need to give them more time unfortunately and it’s a shame that Infinite wasn’t the finished game we were hoping for at launch

exactly zero, They know what they do or don’t in the case of Infinite. I’m just sorry I bought Infinite digital to find out I can’t play it offline anyway. Last Halo game I’ll ever get that’s for sure

Very little at this point.
Really believe 343i needs to be shut down & Halo app be given to a dev company with experience & passion for FPS games.

Some, gameplay in general is solid. But so much content missing, unbalanced maps and srsly money grabbing microtransactions. Kinda ruins it

Dude. 343 is 0-3 for the games they have launched.

4 went from 410k players to 6k in under 6 months.

5 was alright but did not really feel that great.

Infinite was fun for a month.

Three months later and I still stand by what I said.

I’m still having heaps of fun.

Just need; a fix on desync, Forge, and more content.

Halo 4 had an awesome campaign but not so good MP. Halo 5 flipped this the other way round. Infinite has a solid campaign and high potential MP.

Forge!

REF: Capture The Flag:

Really??? WOW!!! your a freaking Genius. In Halo Infinite you You cap your flag at your base but the flag is at someplace ELSE!! I don’t like that! I am a Halo traditionalist. You cap the flag where your flag is at PERIOD! In all of my maps you cap the flag where your flag is at!!! I have been play’n Halo since Halo Combat was released back in 2001.

Have a nice day

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

I’ve still got tons of faith and I believe in them!

None.

The network issues (De-Synch and 250+ ms ping times because it picks far far away servers) will never be resolved.

I no longer have faith in them. I was in their corner still after Halo 5, as I was able to enjoy it despite the poor story. Infinite was showing promise at first, but this company can’t release a complete game and the open world was bland and disappointing despite my low expectations.

I’m glad the good art style has returned, but the game just bores me. It’s a dull, uninspired, and soulless open world where the devs just hit a couple checkboxes to produce a generic open world experience. It took me an age to finish the campaign because I kept stopping to play a different game between sessions. This was to keep me from dying of boredom.

Unfortunately absolutely none, and I genuinely don’t like feeling like that.

Very little faith at the moment.

But, somehow, more hope than I had after H5. Some of the campaign really hit like HALO. Now, admittedly the coolest action was limited to the first 60 second cutscene, but it was a promising 60 seconds. First night I played Infinite’s campaign, before I had hit the open world, I was like Hey this is actually a serious Halo game and I’m loving it. Then, of course, I entered the desolate, copy pasted open world.
