How much does the Covenant know about us?

Here’s something I’ve been wondering about lately:
How much do the Covenant species know about humans and our Reclaimer status?

The entire reason behind the human-Covenant war is that the prophets of Truth, Mercy and Regret discovered that humans were considered to be the heirs of the Forerunners. However, they kept this knowledge to themselves out of fear that the Covenant would disintegrate, and instead told the rest of the Covenant that humans had desecrated Forerunner artifacts.

Fast-forward to 2558: The Covenant is splintered, humans are rebuilding, and the Covenant Hierarchs are dead and gone, presumably without having told anyone else about their knowledge regarding humans. My question is, do any of the former Covenant members know about humanity being Reclaimers? Specifically, characters like Jul 'Mdama, Thel 'Vadam/Arbiter, Rtas Vadum, etc.

On a more vague note, how much do the Covenant species know about humans in general? Things like technology, society, biology, and so on.

They probably don’t know much, but as evident by Avu Med 'Telcam, there was an effort to learn our languages.

Interesting.
I’m willing to bet UR Didact hasn’t revealed to Jul 'Mdama anything that would show humans in a positive light. Their alliance is founded on a mutual dislike for humanity (massive understatement) after all.
I know Thel and Rtas are a tad busy with civil war and fending off brute aggression, but if they thoroughly investigate the depth of the hierarchs deception… the truth about humanity and our reclaimer status may be revealed. Big maybe.

Wouldn’t it be like 2 gods with different opinions from the faithful’s point of view? The covenant worship forerunners, not precursors. Its the ur-didact’s word against those of his dead wife.

Well, one thing we know for sure is the future games/books/comics will show more of the Covies knowing more about us.

Grunts is know to be a fan of human culture. Trading soap opera tapes on the black market etc

Wasn’t there some BBC being swapped around in First Strike?

Actually, the Grunts probably also play games on ancient Xbox consoles stolen from human museums;)

I would assume after the ceasefire they started to put some research into us.

Actually, I was wrong; the Grunts I was thinking of were in Ghosts of Onyx

Trivia Question!: Who was the first human killed by the Covenant?

On topic: Elites also have a basic understanding of human history. When confronted about their beliefs in the Forerunners being gods post-war (post-San-Shyuum) once it was revealed what the Rings were; an Elite ('Telcam, I believe) mentioned that some humans believe in a god who was a mortal man and died, and that was even the basis for their faith, so why would it be so profound to worship the Forerunners? Debating the existence of the Great Journey would be like debating the existence of Heaven.

Anyway, he did some research.

I can’t remember his name off the top of my head, but it was a private transport operator whose ship was raided by Kig-Yar; ironically enough, the first human casualty of the human-Covenant conflict was killed by a Huragok with a rock.
