I have a simple question for all the Halo Reach players out there. How much credits will you earn from a 10 minutes or above none matchmaking Firefight, Campaign, Custom Game or Forge game and in which rank you currently are in? If it isn’t a Xbox Live gamertag you are playing on, please specify that.
My results are behind the Spoiler.
Gamemode: Campaign, Firefight, Custom Games and Forge Spartan Rank: Colonel 2 Credits per 10 minute game: 170 cR
I’m very happy for every single contribution made because that would improve my understanding of the Halo Reach ranking system. I have seen that you will not in any none matchmaking games earn Credits dependent on time until you have played for 10 minutes and the amount of credits given to the player to increase in the form y=kx where k is a constant.
Almost nothing without matchmaking, you need to play in matchmaking to receive a good amount of credits, but you can earn some by completing daily and weekly challenges as long as they don’t require matchmaking, and you can earn some with commendations, but for as i recall you can only earn commendations in campaign, multiplayer and maybe even firefighte requires matchmaking.
My rank is noble.
P.S. that is not a simple question.

How much credits will you earn from that. I’m fully aware that it’s nearly nothing.

Commendations range from iron to onyx, i don’t receive many of them now but i think it starts with maybe 200 credits with iron and will go up to around 2000 depending on how hard it is.
Daily challenges are between 2000 and 4000, there are four a day.
Weekly challenges are usually around 30000 and there is only one a week.
It should be noted that as i recall, challenges were much smaller on Reach’s release, but don’t remember exactly what it was, i think the weekly were about 8000 to 15000.
in private games like; forge, campaign, custom games in firefight and multiplayer, and i think even theater mode, the most you can get is about 300, with around 10 minutes on play time to reach that amount.

Thanks a lot for the information. 300 cR is still better than 170 cR for Colonel 2 and 175 cR for Colonel 3.
I have one of the published books by Bungie which explains exactly how the commendation system works but there are few aspects I’m uncertain. One of the things I have noticed is that when you reach silver on commendations in the Campaign, you will only gain credits from them by completing milestones. However, there are few other rules in Firefight which speaks against the rules of how commendation credits get awarded. One thing I have noticed in gruntpocalypse and other firefight gamemodes that you will get bonus credits from enemies either by time or having a long killing spree. At the beginning of the game, you will gain 4 credits per grunt and 1 extra per headshot. However, later in the round, you will be awarded 5 credits for the kill and 6 for the headshot with the same weapon.

Glad i can be of service.
There are many types of enemie classes, i think of several types of grunts alone, it could be grunts in a squad with elites are worth a different amount, and depending on what game settings affect the game score and maybe even cR, things like skulls and if it’s on heroic or legendary may change theses details in campaign and firefight, another thing i just remembered, if you play on easy i don’t think you can earn commendations at all, and challenges might be off as well, in both campaign and firefight.

That was Firefight matchmaking and what is special about grunts is that all of them are in the group Infantry which are the enemy you seek to progress the Target Practice commendation. It’s also that the increase happens 100% of the times after a certain point and not a rare incident.

I feel a bit curious, why are you so interested in Reach’s DNA? are you interested in most games? are you attending a school in this field?

It’s more or less that I have found many consistent patterns with the ranking system that tells exactly how much credits you will earn. One of the prime examples is that I found that you will not earn any credits or xp in Halo 4 and Reach dependent on playtime after 10 minutes. I haven’t kept track of the RP and XP system in Halo 5 but my guess is that a big part of the given XP and RP is based on time.
I’m in general also very interested in knowing about information that the game devs don’t usually gives out like how different lottery and ranking system works to make it possible to calculate how likely you are to earn a specific item or to make it possible to calculate how much xp/credits you will earn after a game.
