How many

people still think that this is a “Halo” game? Isn’t that what 343 promised? That it’s still “Halo”? Last I checked Halo didn’t have sprint, and on that basis alone, Halo died with Reach.

What shocks me is that 343 didn’t leave the option to disable sprint in custom games. They’re forcing people to adapt to change that some might not like, and that’s a pretty good way to start losing your fan base.

Btw, is there a place on this poorly designed website to see the current population of H4?

This “Halo” argument is subjective. “Halo” is thousands of different things to thousands of different people. One cannot simply define “Halo” in pure fact for everyone else.

With that said, I, a person who has been with Halo from the very start, acknowledge that Halo isn’t what it was in the past. One might say that the Arena shooter has died. I’ll agree for the most part. It’s tough to see it go. I loved the old Quake and Unreal tournament, as well as Bungies’ trilogy. But I asked you, does time exist? Well yes it does. What does this mean? Time itself brings about change. That is fact. Halo has been around for ten years. That’s a lot of time, right?

Look opinions are opinions. Not everyone will think the same. But I disagree with those on this forum taking Halo and telling others what it must be. Millions of people have played these games, therefore one cannot define Halo for the masses with any kind of validity.

I love this game btw. It hardly feels like the old Halos if you ask me. This is something completely new, and I love it.

Sure as hell feels like Halo to me.

You really should stop obsessing on the past.

This is the funniest thing I’ve read in a long time.

Damn that dreaded “Change”.

I agree. There is not a definite definition of what a “Halo” game is as it is something different to everyone. I have played Halo since it first came out and I didn’t even like first person shooters before it came out but I was hooked the first time I played Halo and have been ever since. Yes, this Halo is different but that’s what I like about it but it also like Halo to me. It’s the most fun I’ve had playing a game in a while especially with Spartan Ops as it is something my son and I can play together and really enjoy the story thus far. I really think the changes are going to help the franchise and I am sure there will be more changes to come as I think it’s important to change things up as its the only way to find new things that people enjoy even its taking something from other games and incorporating it in a similar but also different way.

Last time I checked, it said Halo 4 on the case. There isn’t really one thing that defines Halo. I had plenty of problems with Reach. That doesn’t mean it’s not a Halo game. It just means it was a Halo game that wasn’t perfect. As long as it still has Halo in the title, it will be Halo.

“I don’t like change!”

Good God you people, get over it.

People wail on and on about change this and change that. 343’s taken halo in a new direction, and honestly I’m loving it so far. So what, there’s differences? We knew that going in from the beginning.

Adapt to survive.
