How many people still playing Halo 5 these days?

Trust me when I say Halo 5 IS in it’s prime. Halo 5 is better now than ever before, namely because it’s finally a finished game. There are a few issues, such as lack of playlists and being unable to save custom infection game variants at the time, BUT, the gameplay in Super Fiesta customs is my go-to. Although I play with a bit of an altered ruleset:

  1. Infinite ammo is enabled

  2. No weapon pickup or dropping is enabled meaning you get what you spawn with

  3. No radar

  4. No spartan charge

  5. No grenades

  6. Self destruct is -5 points. We had a gamenight member who’d SD himself for better weapons, so I made the penalty -5 to prevent this.

Personally I enjoy Halo 5’s weapon sandbox a lot, but would love a weapon toggle system for fiesta based game types to make even more variants, like mythic fiesta, where it’s mythic tier weapons only.

PC players are not why Infinite is terrible, forced crossplay is. Yes a lot of PC players are cheaters, but MCC’s PC port did wonders. As long as 343 keeps crossplay out or makes it a toggle option, Halo 5 PC would be huge. I mostly want it so I can play Halo 5 on the go. Also mod support, would love to see how the community would ramp up weapon variants.

You talking Warzone Firefight? Cause you know you can’t go into matchmaking with mods right?

Halo 5 doesn’t HAVE any mods because it doesn’t have a Steam port. Mods are something typically something you can only do on PC AND 343’s anti-cheat for MCC prevents you from using mods in matchmaking…mostly, there are some bad apples out there who work around the system but keep in mind they ARE the minority.

The reason for all the cheaters in Infinite, well reasons as there are 2:

  1. Free to play means risk of ban means nothing to cheaters.

  2. There’s no form of any kind of Anti-cheat for Halo Infinite.

Out of curiosity are you new to Halo cause MCC has anti-cheat on PC, if H5 were to come I’d FULLY expect anti-cheat to be there day 1.

Well MCC has optional crossplay with anti-cheat, so don’t base PC ports off of how Infinite was handled, it’s the anomaly. MCC’s PC port was handled VERY well.

Let’s get people to play halo 5 more. I’m pretty sure nobody plays infinite it’s a damn joke. Boost needs to be permanent that’s what makes halo 5 exciting. Fast

There is cheating in Halo 5 tho. Players noticed there is no RoF max for both the AR as well as the Carbine in H5. So controller mods will get you a near instant TTK with these weapons. I found maybe 6 players in 2022 using these mods for instant kills. Luckily, they are bad (like mid-low diamond players) so it it still possible to beat them in MM.

I bet I could count the number of Halo 5 cheaters actively playing on a single hand. Yes they exist, but to say these people are as bad as the cheaters in Infinite or even MCC is laughable.

If I had six fingers on one hand then yes, I could also count them on one hand. 6 is laughably small compared to the number plaguing HI, so I’m glad I never insinuated they were comparable lol. Just saying that it is possible to cheat in H5, because @Byron_072 was wondering about his Warzone Firefight records.

There’s a big difference between controller cheats and PC cheats. Yes modded controllers exist, but they don’t make you immune to in-game death, unlike PC mods where you can fly around and rain fire down from the sky.

I guess I’m not following the relevancy of your comment? I’m not comparing the cheats/#of cheaters to other Halo titles, I’m just trying to say that it’s possible to cheat in H5. Unlimited fire rate on an AR and Carbine is gonna give someone a big advantage in MM and if someone wanted to “break unofficial firefight records” using mods, it would certainly help. In fact, the only way I lose a Slayer match to Plats is with controller mods lol

OG Halo player since 2002. I’ve played Halo 3, Halo 4 and Halo 5 all from their beginnings to their prime to their end. Halo infinite was the end of Halo in my opinion. The greatest of all was Halo 5. The game was fast and graphics were in their prime as well. When Halo infinite came out I thought “okay” the graphics are cool, but that’s it. The game itself is boring. In the glory prime days of Halo 5 you could have a team of noobs and carry your team to victory with 30+ kills. I recently hopped on to try to play Halo 5 Big Team battle but it’s completely gone. All players are gone and can’t even start a match. Then I tried Halo Ultimate Collection and got a coupe Halo Reach and Halo 4 games but nothing, I mean nothing will ever be like Halo 5 (the greatest game to have ever been made.) I’m glad I was part of that.

I just kept playing infinite and left Halo 5 tbh. I loved halo 5 and attempted to grind out until i reach the max level. Even then it was too tedious. When Halo infinite released (even when with the lack of maps and content that was out at that time), I just stuck with Infinite. The gameplay is fantastic to this dang day, and now i’m grinding out on the battle passes. Halo 5 doesn’t have much to go back to.

Very little are on these days. I made a forum asking the same question. Players mostly play around half 6 to 7 GMT. Gave it a go and its the best we’re going to get for now unless 343I either create a pc port and make ir cross play or release the game for free.

I have zero issues finding ranked slayer and quickplay games on weekend evenings.
