It’s been awhile since I played. I was wondering if it’s worth picking it up again if the community is still alive.

Well, if you ask around here on Waypoint, most will tell you it’s a horrible game, that it ruined Halo, and 343 done goof.
I personally think it’s really fun game, sure, it’s unbalanced because of perks and AAs, but I can get over it. I like playing CTF a lot, and the Heavies playlist is normally loads of fun.
If you look here, it’ll tell you how many people are playing Halo at the moment. The range is normally between 10K-25K… definitely not one of the better populations. But, finding matches isn’t a problem, and if you’re up for it, I say jump back in!
Well the game is decent in my opinion, but at the time when it was priced at $60 dollars? I did my research to find that the population within Halo 4 had drastically decreased(And it still has), therefor it influenced me not to purchase the game at the start. However, when I got the game I decided to play it, it is really fun and enjoyable at times. On the other hand there is a lot of downsides as well, but I don’t really mind as most of those such as bugs and glitches within Halo 4 are smaller compared to other game’s like Grand Theft Auto: Online. Overall, I still play the game. There are just a lot of aspects that really bug me.
I think Halo 4 is a blast. I have over 11 days playtime. Worth way more than $60 compared to normal video game value.
There is still a decent population and you won’t have trouble finding matches. I love Halo 4 and I would be playing it a lot more if I didn’t have tons of homework every week.
I decided to come back last weekend when I was not doing much and felt like achievement hunting. I found the game to be way easier than I last remembered.
Enough to get matches, which tbh is all that matters.
I am taking a little mini hiatus to check out Bungies new hawtness but I have been out there on a near daily basis otherwise.
I had some good matches yesterday night. TS about 1600 ppl, BTB, flood had even higher numbers. PG unfortunately still very low
But overall its still enjoyable
Well, much like Comic said, lots of people on here really don’t like Halo 4. But IMO the game is okay, i mean sure it may not be just like the other halos but that does not mean that the game should be automatically ruled out. It just means that its different. Sometimes different can be good, sometimes it can be bad, but i still find the game is fun. Who cares if others think less of me for playing it, but if i find it fun, ill continue playing it.
Overall i think there is still a good number of people who continue to play it and feel the same.

Halo 4 doesn’t have the largest population but matches are easy to come by and are an absolute blast. I recently rediscovered Dominion on the heavies playlist and absolutely love the games I’ve been playing. Most of the people that are still playing are fairly experienced so the games are usually balanced although there is always the one sided game. Unfortunately there’s still the annoying -Yoink!-s who do nothing but kill for power weapons and get mad when they miss out on a vehicle. You’ll see that a lot on Heavies as it’s a playlist that focuses on vehicular combat. I’d say give Halo 4 another shot. You might find that you enjoy the game.
Currently I’m playing Destiny and primarily Clash. Halo 4 is still a good game to play and the only thing I don’t miss is the lag in MM.
I honestly don’t believe why people hate so much on this game, i myself don’t see much unbalances and the forge in my opinion is the best for fun.
I do have my complaints but i get over it…
I really enjoy it, but i really hate that spartan ops isn’t continued sadly…
It’s a fun game and you can have alot of fun it’s awesome, i love it i’m sure evry one else would agree.
By the way use the DMR it’s a really good gun i’ve used it ever since i first started playing halo 4.
I just started playing again as well. It’s a much smaller population then what it used to be. It’s not classic halo and the loadouts changed everything. I used to care about my Halo skill, now, I care about getting an overpowered ordinance,oh and I love me the saw (Cheapness at it’s very best, no skill needed).
This game franchise isn’t even a shadow of what it used to be.
some people say it’s unbalanced, but I don’t think that’s true. sure, some of the AAs could have been implemented better and some of the perks don’t really work that well considering the kind of game it is. But more than anything, it’s just inequal. It’s not inequal in unbalanced ways: I choose things that fit my playstyle rather than the most easily abusable abilities and perks and weapons, and yet I can still easily beat people who go the other way if I’m more skilled than them.
The inequality just doesn’t matter that much. If you’re willing to put up with it, you can find ways to win. And it’s fun when you do that.
But I definitely wouldn’t hate going back to equal starts, not because I dislike this way of doing it, but because I think they didn’t go far enough. this kind of game works best when your playstyle IS totally altered by the things you choose, but they de-emphasized it to try to stick a bit closer to original Halo and it ends up feeling rather ancillary.
This implies to me a serious power struggle between people who wanted basic skills to impact your play more, and people who wanted loadouts to. It seems many of the latter people have left, joining CoD teams and other similar shooters. So now I feel there’s a chance to more fully commit to one direction, and have a far stronger game as a result.
So basically: I play Halo 4 and enjoy it, but I recognize it has some issues and respect 343 for acknowledging them and going in a new direction.
Would almost daily but only have the Xbox One now.
According to my stats page, last time I played Halo 4 was about a month ago, I played through Sniper Alley. And I’m guessing that I did that in order to have my armor here on Waypoint change.
I think for me, the reason I stopped playing was I hit my over saturation point for Halo games. Not just Halo 4, but Halo games in general. I picked up my 360 in order to play Halo 3 and I played the crap out of Halo 3, ODST and Reach from about '09 until this summer.
Not that any of them were really bad overall, but I wanted to get into other games that I had shelved in order to play Halo _______. (fill in the blank)
Destiny is my focus game right now, but I infill with Borderlands 2, and a few Assassins Creed games I haven’t completed among other games I haven’t gotten around to play.
I might be more interested in playing another Halo game when 5 gets closer to being released, but right now I don’t have any real interest in playing any Halo games.
Still has Loadouts and Ordinance and Sprint.
Which is why I have gone back to Halo 3 and can’t wait for the MCC.
Don’t tell me to play Legendary Slayer because last time I was on, that playlist had 50 players for a less than 2 year old game.
Halo 4 single player is top class, people can’t forget the 360 is 9 yrs old, but just like other Halo games has some Boring and repetitive parts like activating something over and over.
The BIG problem of the game is the Multiplayer, some people love H2 MP but Halo 3 MP was GREAT, better graphics, better performance, better Xbox Live… It introduced stuff like the Flare that didn’t ruin the game but made it more fun.
Halo Reach broke the game with armor abilities, sprint is good for you but gave the game a too fast pace, the other stuff like jet-pack just made the game too frustrating for people used to old school weapon loaded combat.
Halo 4 MP had the same problems as Halo Reach and more. Like Halo Reach, the main thing, the MAPS are very bad, Big TB and Big maps are nice for some people but the lack of small maps 4*4 drove people away from the game.
Big maps and a TERRIBLE split-screen made both games unplayable for people like me. Split-screen was how many people was introduced to Halo, many hours playing with friends in 17´´ TVs, well, the 360 can’t handle Halo 4 split-screen and 343 did nothing to fix that.
Reach has more now it is with free with gold.
