How many New Players are there really?

Previously on 343… “We want new players to feel welcome to Halo”. Seriously?

I’m curious how many people in Halo 5 actually never played the other Halo games beforehand, or even just one title. I think 1.5 million copies of Halo 5 being sold already says a lot about the people who bought the game.

Halo 4 might’ve had new players, but how many really? Why does 343 insist it’s designed in such a way to make new players feel welcome when I don’t see any on the statistics.

Example: Does Halo need to ease itself for the sake of introducing 1/100 people who haven’t played, compared to 75/100 who played previous games?

Edit: The game Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 is a perfect example of challenge. It was for me, hard. But I got used to it and it maintained its challenges, and never changed them. Tomb raider is another example of not caring about new players. Solution for newcomers: just make it more challenging and “adapt” to the challenges in the game. Not saying Halo isn’t challenging btw. Just saying these games didn’t give a damn about new players. And in my honest opinion, neither should 343. It could be a small key to helping Halo improve.

If you can prove me wrong that there are thousands of newcomers I’ll be grateful. But be honest, is Halo 4 or 5 really the first Halo game they ever played? Let me know if you’re a new player or know someone. We need statistics.

Its a new console so there will be new players. There are of course going to always be new comers just no idea how many.

There could be a lot of new players, but you wont find out until Halo 6. Then you will have them saying why did 343 change this from Halo 5, and then they wills say 5 was the first Halo game they played.

Official It’s tenthousanty millionty.

I think we need an official response from 343, otherwise it sounds more like themselves who wanted to feel more introduced. Possibly

Good luck with that.

Gonna be hard to get an answer as id say most new players wont have made thier way to the forums yet

33yrs of age, never owned an Xbox in my life, this is my first one and i’ve only bought it to play HALO, so bought H5 and MCC (;

do i count as a New player (although i’m rather old-ish)?

Troll alert: Statistics show that only 3 million Xbox 1s have been sold in the past two years, compared to the 360’s wiping 83 million consoles sold. You probably have a 360 to consider a One :)P

nope, like i said, never owned an Xbox in my life, neither ONE nor 360, my younger brother has always been a huge FIFA/NHL fan, so we somehow always ended up getting a PS so that he could play his favorite games - then i guess i just got used to being a PS “fanboy” and kept upgrading all the way to PS4
now, i’ve ALWAYS wanted to play HALO, but never having Xbox wasn’t really helpful, so last week as i got absolutely fed up with Destiny’s crappy PvP and RNG, i’ve ventured into my local gaming store and noticed they had a good deal on the ONE Elite, so i grabbed one along MCC and H5…and am absolutely loving it thus far, the story was indeed short and the MP is difficult as hell for someone completely new to this game, but trust me, having played Destiny for over a year (since release), this game feels like HA(ven)LO (:

thank you! (;

…like i said, been having GREAT time so far and i haven’t even touched MCC yet (…need off from work to get into it, so it’ll have to wait till Christmas holidays), for now i’m just messing around in Warzone trying my best not to drag my team down too much, and if i feel really cheeky, i’ll go and get my “bottom/yoink” kicked in Slayer

as for Campaign, my first run through was on Normal, as i’ve never touched HALO before, so i wanted to get used to weapons, movement and aiming (…with new controller), now i’m on my second run (Heroic/solo) and doing pretty good so far, although i reckon the Warden Eternal won’t be easy

Did you feel lost with the story of the campaign? Because you might have wanted to play them in order.
