I know there’s no reason to make a decision on this now, but I figured it’d be fun to see where everyone stand.
Iv been playing Halo since release in 2001 and im almost 21 years old now. Im figuring that it might be time for me to dwindle down on the video games a bit and I figured Halo 6 might be my last Halo I play. I have a sneaking suspicion they are gonna kill chief in H6 and I think that might be a good time for me to exit.
So what about you? Halo 6, 7, 20? How long will you stick with the series and why?
If Halo 6 doesn’t have split screen I’m not gonna buy it, at least until the price drops significantly. If it does I’ll pre-order it or something like that, and hope that it has more content on release than 5 did.

I’ve posted something like this before. In regards to my love of the Halo franchise… I have every Xbox Console that has slapped the Halo brand on it. As well as all the legendary game options…
But sadly… If Chief dies, I don’t know what I’m going to do. Halo is the only reason I even still play video games.
Halo 5 is not a bad shooter game, it’s actually good as a shooter. However it just doesn’t feel like Halo to me (except the soundtrack!) I’ll keep an eye on Halo 6, but I definitely won’t preorder (didn’t for 5 either.)
Preordering is a bad habit, and I hope they tone down the microtransactions some and Spartan abilities just a bit. If it gets too crazy I might have to pass.
On the other side, Halo Wars 2 greatly excites me. Hopefully I won’t have to pay a microtransaction
to play as the covenant or anything.
spin-offs I will play but if the game starts becoming repetitive and well ridiculous Im done. I will play the main series till like 8, no game should reaaly ever go past that number. I can play spin-offs more like halo wars 2 or 3 cause they play different. Im a fan of the world that the games exist in and enjoy seeing all aspects of that world
I’ll buy it if Locke dies in the extended universe and he’s never seen in a halo game…ever. If not, probably rent just so 343 doesnt make any money off of me.
Only real reason I bought Halo 5 a few weeks after its launch is that I was curious about the story/campaign and I had a gamestop gift card just collecting dust from last christmas (the vast majority of my gaming is indie games on steam so…what else am I gonna spend it on?). Well, we all know how the story ended up. Multiplayer is fairly solid but still very casual.
Whether I buy any more Halo games depends on how they end up turning out. Will they be a return to form? Or will they focus on Warzone with even more REQ / microtransaction nonsense?
I don’t plan on quitting gaming until I’m like sixty or blind, but Halo is a different story.

“Don’t you know? Halo 6 will return to it’s roots! We promise this time!” still puts movement gimmicks in the game
after the MCC blunder and the release and handling of 5, I am sad to say I am losing favor of my first gaming franchise. it’s been fun, up until the end anyway where it was tryhard MLG style. my first video game I ever played was CE, my first owned Halo was Reach. it really is saddening to see it in the state that it’s in, it has potential but decisions aren’t being properly planned or executed and for that lack of professionalism and business ethic, I am going to be out if I don’t see a significant change with 6. still pumped about halo wars 2 and Halo 3A when it comes out though. 343 seems to do well at side projects and anniversaries. All we fans can really do is hope the right staff is in charge and the right ideas are being implemented.
