How many maps will come with Halo 4 to start.

Do you think 343 will go the greedy route and charge us for most maps that are already on the CD? Does anyone know how many maps come with the game.

10 competitive + 3 Forge Specific = 13 total + infinity thanks to the power of forge

> 10 competitive + 3 Forge Specific = 13 total + infinity thanks to the power of forge

This is correct. Thirteen maps in total and forge, each map with their own unique pallets, has endless possibilities (Many more than Reach with the grey objects).

And to add to this, Spartan Ops has fifty free missions which means fifty different environments, probably even space missions. :stuck_out_tongue:

The game ships with 13 maps total. No extra charges.

10 multiplayer/competitive maps, 3 Forge-specific maps.

Then we get countless Forge maps, that will hopefully be and look a lot better because of the improvements to Forge and different environments.

Then we get a season of Spartan Ops (downloadable), which is 50 different environments and missions, free of charge.

We’ll be quite satisfied in Halo 4. Not to mention there are 9 maps coming as future DLC, so 3 map packs.

Cool thanks I was thinking of infinity ward which charged for maps they made prior to release of MW3.

This is incorrect. In the most recent Sparkast, they confirmed we’ll be revisiting areas on quite a few occasions. I’m only expecting about 20-30 new environments. Probably less.

10 real maps, not that impressive when you think about it but 3 BTB maps, 3-5 medium and 2-3 small maps should do, add 3 random forge maps that might be great or horrible, all we know is that they won’t be dedicated maps at least.
DLC adds another 9 maps over the coming year(s).

Remember just a few years ago, when games used to ship with many maps (beginning of this console generation, games like Unreal Tournament 3)? those were the days
The game shipped with more maps then Halo 4 will have after Forge and DLC, and thanks to the best map editor ever, you could have thousands of real maps for free. Those were the days ^^

I only expected to be revisiting areas a few times, I’d expect more than 20-30 environments. Thanks for the new info.

Halo CE shipped with 13 maps

Halo 2 shipped with 12 maps

Halo 3 shipped with 11 maps

Reach shipped with 9 maps

Halo 4 is essentially outdoing every game since Halo CE with the number of maps on the disc at launch.

And Unreal Tournament 3 shipped with 14 maps, none of which are customizable on the 360 verison

So get over your nostalgia, because it’s way off base.
