So I want to first say, what an insane departure from the previous Halo games going into this massive open world structure that 343 created with this game, but in a really fantastic way. The Open World they created here really is fantastic (although I would like more content or collectables/RPG mechanics like upgrading say your weapon damage for example, not for campaign of course, with how big the map space is to make it feel more dense and have more reason to explore all over at a shorter distance) but obviously would like more biomes to explore of course. They have a great foundation to start off with and wonder if this can be built upon into the future.
I want to ask two questions if anyone has measured this yet, how many kilometers (since the Waypoint system to each objective is in meters, assuming 1000 meters is a kilometer) and how big is the diameter of the map space if anyone has measured this yet? And second question is in the future, do you think 343 with this new engine they rebuilt thats actually based off the Blam! Engine, could they actually with this scale of the map, create an entire Halo Ring accurate to Scale someday? According to Lore, its around 10,000 km in diameter and 318km wide, do you guys think this can be done in this engine, especially on the non-broken up parts of the ring? Its a crazy thought, but if the worldspace is around 10km wide (not sure haven’t measured myself yet), then at least the width of the Halo Ring for the next step could encompass a much huger section of the ring but maybe not the entire thing yet.
