Does anyone have a creditable source which states how many copies of Reach have been sold? I want to see a recent figure…all the links I find only ever tell me that Reach sold something like 3 million in the first few weeks but I can’t find any figures since then

Thanks for that, but vgchartz isn’t creditable. They say that 11.7 million copies of Halo 3 have been sold yet on the Halo website itself it says that 14.5 million copies have been sold.
Maybe they intentionally locked it at 11.7. Who knows.
And a good portion of those copies are either colecting dust in a house, or a local gamestop.
> And a good portion of those copies are either colecting dust in a house, or a local gamestop.
Or being played daily, just not on live. You never know,I did that for years with 1 and 2 and so did many others.
> And a good portion of those copies are either colecting dust in a house, or a local gamestop.
As with almost every other game in existence.

Fix’d
i have no clue how many have been sold total but i have bought 3 of them. i have helped out with reaches numbers enough
Who cares. “No one” plays it and this is more relevant. A game like Halo also has follow-up costs like matchmaking servers, stats, website support etc.
And I doubt that MS is happy with the current situation of having a full fletched money draining support for just 50k or 70k people a day, when Halo 3 had like 120K or or even more. Especially when you consider that Halo is MS flagship for Xbox. I guess that’s why they decided to make a “cheap” Halo CE remake. Milking the fans before Halo 4 comes out.

lol

Sadly, he’s right. I had to beg my brother to play with me again, and I only play with 2 people of the near 90 I had played with from the Halo 2 era.
So many have left Halo because of Reach.

try going into MM with a mic and make some friends, my active roster is usually 2 pages long and I can join any type of arena, social, custom slayer, online/custom FF, campaign, or forge lobby at any time of day, with moderate-good people in them.

More so with Reach than those other games.

Sorry for the double post, but I had to answer this
MM = People who have issues. Every once in a great while there is a cool guy thats pretty chill. But most people are like END OF REASON YOU ARE A BLAM. What do you want me to do about that?
Yeah that’s cool and all that you Active Roster is 2 pages long, but thats you and not all of us on this site.

Unfortunately I’ve never been able to experience this. Towards the end of the Halo 2 era I found about 4 of my friends loved Halo. That’s it - just 4 friends. I’ve never been able to play with a massive group of friends
But as for Reach, all I can say is that those 4 friends still play Reach just as often as they played Halo 3 and I also have 2 more “friends” who started playing Halo more after Reach came out.
But still, no-one’s answered my question

CHRIS
go read the halo 3 game page for halo 3. yes it says 14.5 million but read it carefuly. it say halo 3 is the concluding chapter in a series that sold more than 14.5 million copies. That is talking about halo 1 and 2’s combined sales that vgchartz so happen to have at 14.86 copies combined.
If were you got the 14.5 million is wikipedia it doesnt matter. wiki’s source for that is halo 3’s gamepage here on waypoint.
So to conclude halo 3 hasnt sold 14.5M or more copies, and vgchartz may be correct after all, It actually has halo 3 at 11.36M but that doesnt include shipped or downloaded copies(which id guess is over 500k).
vgchartz by the way has halo reach at 8.8 million. which doesnt sound great but 59 weeks after halo 3 released(vgchartz has 59 weeks of halo reach tracked) halo 3 was only at 8.35 million so that means reach is tracking ahead of halo 3 by 450k on vgchartz.
