How many are enjoying halo 4 Spartan ops ?

I have a real quick question How many of you are enjoying Spartan Ops cause i know I’am it is way better than firefight was because you actually follow up on the campeign so it is like a addon to the campeign anyways thank you for this awsome mode

I would be enjoying it a lot more if it weren’t for the amount of lag I’m receiving each game online.

I’d be enjoying it if it were fun. But it’s not. They tried to attach a story to firefight and I just don’t care. I have campaign for that.

Love the concept and continuing the story…but lag and death penalty/need of checkpoints would more than double it.

I am enjoying it a lot because of the added story, not because of the gameplay. I don’t see why they couldn’t leave firefight in and do Spartan Ops as well. Firefight had an incredibly social and relaxing atmosphere to it. However, Spartan Ops has no customization to it (IE I can’t play Sniper Ops), and it actually requires some effort. In firefight you can stand virtually in the same spot the entire match, and have just as much fun and contribute just as much as the rest of your team.

Seriously, this isn’t Madden. Why make an awesome gametype like firefight, and then leave it out of one of the next installment?

Lol main reason i like it is cause i get about 6000xp per freaking game xD

And the games only go 5 minutes!

I am loving the concept but i fear it’s very strength of being an ambitious idea may be playing against it. Not due to lack of innovation or effort mind you but due to the limitations of the 360. The first season came with the first disk which the content is being released episodically for no extra charge IIRC.

Even with the install disk, it’s clearly obvious that 343 is being held back by 360. We have two episodes that don’t really do anything new besides provide us with some very interesting and good look CG cutscenes. It’s just flip this switch, take out a number of enemies, flip two-three more switches again and rinse n repeat. Save for one mission, we’ve walked on familiar ground this episode; mostly just in reverse

The missions themselves, while enjoyable, have that samey feel to them. This may change in future episodes and hopefully that’s the case. I want to be wrong because this is such a cool idea 343 implemented.

If Season One turns out just popular enough (like borderline dud but still has a following)Spartan OPs S2 could benefit from:

Solo missions (playing as the Master Chief or another character for a mission) that is epic and challenging while pushing the story forward and expanding the universe.

New environments and objectives. Capturing a core or data cache (think Invasion), escorting a valuable asset to a destination while protecting from enemies, hell even throw a curve ball and introduce puzzle like elements to a mission (for variety)

In game cut scenes and dialogue on par with the main Campaign. Think ODST/Halo 4 Campaign and Fire Team Majestic with in game dialogue and stuff.

Scoring system and lives. Will introduce incentive to play and with lives, makes the missions harder instead of dying over and over again to face weakened foes.

“Story like restrictions” your HUD doesn’t work, ammo is scarce etc (kinda like skulls except there is story reasons to explain the nerfs).

The idea of having a few cameos by MC or other UNSC brass could be cool. I agree that it is being held back by the 360. However, I don’t see how the xbox is preventing 343i from making a few new maps for SO. Or recycling some different environments from campaign. But taking the exact same maps from episode 1 is just lazy.

I like the addition, I don’t like the replacement of firefight. Spartan Ops has a neat story so far and is pretty fun, but I can honestly say I don’t see myself replaying it once I get all my commendations and complete all of the episodes. But then again I guess that’s the same as firefight. Oh well. Still fun to get more story.

I like it.

Spartan Ops has made me hate HUD waypoints.

I’m enjoying it quite a bit actually.

Some friends and I are going to tackle Episode 2’s chapters tonight on Legendary, so that’ll be fun.

Don’t get me wrong though; Spartan Ops is sad, cheap replacement for Firefight (which I’d live to see come back at some point), but when you don’t compare it to Firefight and judge it simply by what it is, it’s pretty good.

Love it

I really like the concept of having story based missions. However, at the moment, the reused of maps and button pressing is not making me bounce with joy…

I agree with this but I would like a in game scene with crimson and rest of the team with your friends or if your solo you are team crimson, and They would stop referring yous as plural.

would you guys like to play some spec ops with me as well ? also im looking to start making maps and getting teams of 8 and playing big team and stuff as well overall i look forward to it if you do !!! my GT IS HD Zeropuv

I like it, but it needs work. The lag online is unacceptable and a choose difficulty setting in online matches would be nice. It also has almost no replay value. It’s still solid, though. The repetitiveness is also horrible.

like it, though improvements ARE needed. its a fun to play a mission or 2 in between war games sessions.

Besides the lag that happens sometimes (I can understand why), I’m overall pleased with Spartan OPs. I like it alot more then I did Firefight (that includes ODST along with Halo Reach).

Sparta Ops >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Firefight
