I had the one I bought 7 days before Halo 3, fixed that one 3 times. Sold it. Bought an elite on the Day H3: ODST came out. Sold it. Bought another elite, about a year later bought another Elite (No Hard Drive), bought the H4 Slim then another Black Slim to put in my GAEMS PGE. Sold it all. Bought a day One Xbox One but someone stole it while I was in jail.
Bought 1 last one 360 on October 13th of last year (my birthday).
Then another Xbox One Day One (Used this time) on November 11th from Gamestop. Thankfully for this last Xbox One, I had SO many points and trade in credits, I literally paid $6 and some change for it. Don’t believe me? I got a receipt to prove it.
Also a couple days before Christmas I bought my g/f’s son a 360 at gamestop, again, so much trade in I only paid $3 and some odd cents.
So 7 (6 for me) Xbox 360’s and 2 Xbox One’s so far.
Xbox One controllers on the other hand; I’ve been through about 6 Day One Controllers, they seem to suffer from a drifting ing left thunbstick.
I bought a 360 elite not long after Halo 3 came out and the traded it in for the slim when that launched and I still have that one. It’s the shiny slim so it never looks clean haha. Jealous of my fiancée, when I bought her a 360 she got one of the nicer looking matte black ones
I still have my original. In 2009 the disk drive started to malfunction, and I was afraid it was going to destroy a game, so I got it changed. In 2012 the power supply failed, and I had to buy a new one. Nowadays the console works fine aside from the disk drive not opening in a vertical position.

I have the same problem. I laid mine on the side, but the drive still occasionally jams.
I have two Xbox 360s. My original was the Halo 4 console, but when Lizard Squad did their first hacking attack on Microsoft, my system ‘needed’ an update. Now it is permaglitched offline because it will not read any storage devices while updating hence throwing the 045D error out everytime (Includes any USB drive, any Microsoft HDD, etc), even though it reads them any other time. This event forced me to get my current standard black Xbox 360.
Edit: So:
1.) Xbox 360 Elite (Halo 4 Console) - Permaglitched offline by Lizard Squad, Working Only Offline
2.) Xbox 360 Elite (Black) - Working 100%

My best guess is that they bought there 360s shortly after they first launched. New things are always prone to bugs and problems of the sorts.

Environment. Was it always kinda closed off or always out in open (ventilation). Were there smokers or pets (crap gets into vents and such).

Why would you bother going through that many??? I would’ve just wanted a refund and be done with it.
