Maybe this has been asked before, maybe it hasn’t, but I haven’t see it anymore so here goes:
Anybody remember that old clunker called Halo: Combat Evolved? Yeah, well, people still play the multiplayer. Tons of people, actually. Myself included. Halo 2? Yeah. Halo 3? That too. Why? Because they’re fun! I could play any of those for any amount of time and never get bored. But, what about Halo: Reach? Well, brace yourselves, because here comes an opinion. Reach’s multiplayer sucked.
Everyone starts throwing tomatoes
No, no, this isn’t a Hate-on-Reach thread, but it does involve my opinion as stated above. Reach’s multiplayer just never really stuck with me all that much. I played a couple fun rounds of zombies and BTB, but after maybe a month, I just stopped having fun. Now, this begs the questions to arise, will Halo 4 be similar? Will it’s multiplayer last as long (Fun-wise) as Halo 3? Or will it be more like Reach? State your opinions belooooooow!
> More people play Reach than 3, so yes, people still play Reach…

> Halo 4? I expect it to last as long as Xbox Live is up.
Er… I wasn’t referring to how many people played the game currently, because that’ll be which ever one is newer. That’s just a fact of life. I was referring to how long you could play the game for before it became stale/repetitive.

That’s all a matter of opinion, I don’t find any Halo game stale or repetitive yet, I’m expecting the same with Halo 4

I got bored fast with Halo 3, but I have been playing Halo: Reach every day since the release date… I also try to play Halo: CE and Halo 2 on XBC, but there is almost nobody anymore and always lag. >_>
Yea but how old were you when playing those games…did you even have any other games then? What about now, like are you in school or working? Have a girlfriend/boyfriend?
What I’m trying to get at is times have changed. All these things contributed to me not playing so much. But I still enjoyed playing all halos. But I bought other games. So my halo time was cut drastically. I got a serious girlfriend. In college. Working. Seriously what kind of responsibilities could you have had at the age of 12-15?
It will last as long as there are people who find it fun to play. I don’t know why you’re trying to tip toe around the Reach bashing. It’s okay to admit that you think Reach sucked which is why it’s not fun to play for you.
I’m actually curious to see how many people will be playing Reach a few days after H4 drops. It will most likely be pretty comical.

> halo 2 and halo 3s multiplayer was repetetive…
Repetitive is literally a word that should be barred from describing multiplayer, a multiplayer experience is supposed to provide a balanced and re-playable environment thus it is meant to provide a repetitive and familiar experience for the player. You’re new experiences in multiplayer come from your opponents and different situations that occur from the Sandbox and game being balanced correctly, not from new content per say. I know every single aspect of Halo 2 multiplayer, I know every single prevalent strategy, every 4v4 map, and I know how most situations play out. That may seem to make it more repetitive but only when the game becomes repetitive do you begin to discover the depths of it. What is 1000 times more important, is if the multiplayer itself has fun and balanced mechanics that make it replayable.
Reach was fun and I still like playing it now , but I never found it as fun as Halo 3. Honestly I see no reason to go back to Reach once Halo 4 comes out. Like I said, it was fun, but there was just something missing from it.

How can we answer that if we have yet to play the game?

By making an educated guess. We know a good deal of what’s in the multiplayer already, so it’s not at all premature to make guesses of the sort.

This^^^^^^^^
I just grew tired a Halo 3 after a year. I’ve been playing Reach much longer. I suspect I’ll be playing Halo 4 much, much longer.
