do an 8GB installation to the HDD? I think the largest games I have are 2-3GB (Skyrim, Gears 3, Lara Croft: GoL), but I can’t remember how long they took.

Blarg. Guess I might try and, crazily enough, have a look at the manual or some of the LE content whilst I wait.
I don’t know if they mean that the game is 8GB, or including the Spartans Ops you’ll download will be 8GB.
Downloaded from a disc no longer then 30 to 45 mins, downloading from a server is a total different story as that depends on how crowded the server your connected to is more so then your download speed. So if i have to download from a sever ill be lucky if its done by the time i complete the story…
You’re looking at about a REQUIRED 40 minute install from disc to play multiplayer.

Skyrim took 20 mins and thats only like 3 or 4 gigs, so im going with 40 as stated above.
It shouldn’t take that long. I install games all the time and it probably takes 10 minutes. Forza’s disc 2 probably took 15 or 20 minutes though.

DA: Origins is 6 GB and took 15 minutes, so the above seems to be a good estimate. The age of your system and it’s “mileage” could affect this as well. If you have the HD space it’s good practice to install all your games, at least the ones you play regularly,because it’s less stress on your system.

Rage on the PS3 requires an 8GB install and it seemed to take 20 minutes to complete the task. Then again, it could vary from game to game.

It also depends on how much the files are compressed aswell which could easily double the amount of time if its heavly compressed.
I have been installing games a lot over the last few years. Although I recently uninstalled a handful that I’d stopped playing regularly, including H3 and Reach. Now, of course, I’ve started playing both regularly again.
