I’ve been patient, WAY to patient. In fact, I basically have forgotten that I actually own Halo MCC. I pre-ordered the game and basically got it the first day. Since then, I’ve honestly been only been able to play about half a dozen games. I’ve tried a few matches in the last week, and after a few minutes, I noticed that I hadn’t been paired with anyone, yet, so I backed out. With as long as I’ve been waiting for matchmaking to work, if I were to play CoD Ghosts, I’d already be in games, which I think also uses a matchmaking like system. Correct me if I’m wrong.
How long has it taken those who have MORE RECENTLY been successful at getting in games, to start matches? I don’t mind waiting a bit longer, as I still am somewhat content on Halo: Combat Evolved for PC. Obviously, I want to play something bigger and better, but at the same time…something THAT WORKS, as I REALLY want this game to just work online. I’ve been playing Halo since the days of playing Halo: Combat Evolved using System Link on the original XBOX.
when it works for me, it usually takes about 2 minutes. When it doesn’t, it doesn’t work at all and ends with connection failed - if that happens it will never work until I force quit the game from the xbox home screen and start it again. usually doing team slayer - the blended h1/2/3 one. my NAT is reported as STRICT although i’m not sure thats accurate: when i had it on WIFI it was OPEN, then moved it to a wired connection with no firewall changes and now it reports strict. I use UPnP

Ethernet: 70up/30Down/89ms
router: ASUS AC68u
inet provider: cable
even working its pretty sad given Reach on 360 i can get generally get a match in about 30 seconds.
The first thing I would do is hard reset your xbox and power cycle your network equipment.
Hard reset the xbox by holding the power button for about 10 seconds. Then unplug the ac adapter from the outlet and wait until the light is no longer illuminated.
Power cycle your network equipment by unplugging both the modem and router OR just the modem/router combo. Wait 1 minute plug in your modem first and wait 30 seconds. Then plug in your router.
Games should load within 5 minutes. If this doesn’t work I’ll usually go back to the main menu and try once more. If I still don’t get a game within 5 mintues I hard quit MCC back to the dashboard and re-search (this usually works).
