How long must we wait?

I’ve lurked around on the forums for a few months before halo 4 came out. Either some of you are the most patient people in the world or you are complete fan boys.

The same revised response I have seen to negative feedback since watching these forums:

You haven’t played the game yet. Wait until it comes out.

after e3 pax prototype:

You haven’t played the game yet. Wait until it comes out.
I have played it at (E3 Pax)
Well that’s just a prototype. Wait until the build is finalized.

after eurogamer or comic con (games gone gold):

You haven’t even played the game yet. wait till it comes out
I played the final build at (eurogamer comic con)
Well you haven’t played online multiplayer yet. just wait, you’ll see.

After game release:

The game hasn’t even been out for (a week, 2 weeks, a month). You expect the game to be perfect on release? Wait until the first title update.

I don’t care about some glitch in some vent on complex getting fixed. If you’re stupid enough to keep going over there trying to get the guy sitting in there, you deserve to keep getting killed. I care about actual gameplay, the competitive gameplay that halo once had.

So, my question is, how long must we wait?

I’ve heard that there’s a TU coming with the next season of SOps but i don’t really know.

While I fully support this thread, I’m also kinda prepared to wait. There’s so much good stuff sitting underneath the load of crap in this game, and, if the crap goes away, then I’ll be happy I waited. Until then, come on 343i, fix what you can.

I agree with this completely.
earlier today I was just walking around in a custom game by myself finding different ways to get to ring 3 on abandon. if you don’t sprint at all, it feels just like halo ce - 3, minus the millions of ordnance drops and weapon labels that pop up all over the map.

If they create a playlist that has set weapon spawns, single starting loadout, and sprint disabled, it would be close to perfect in my eyes. I just want a playlist that I and others like myself can enjoy as much as those who enjoy playing infinity slayer. I’m guessing the MLG playlist is going to be the one that does away with these things.

Oh and instant re-spawn, which I do think is glitched right now in custom game options and will be fixed soon.

I heard there’s an update coming…never…

343 hasn’t been listening to any of their fans. If they are, they are doing an excellent job of keeping it secret and not showing it. I am very frustrated by them. They trash Halo, and don’t fix it. They get no more time to fix these issues, when it comes to competitive first person games, you have to be quick, otherwise people will just leave.

Of course the fanboys will say “give it more time” or “you guys need to be more patient” but no, go back to CoD and quit trying to dumb down halo

> “You expect the game to be perfect on release? Wait until the first title update.”

Funny people should say something like this… Ya know, when, back in the old days of gaming, if a game wasn’t done it wasn’t -Yoinking!- released! As Hideo Kojima said, a respectable man and creator of Metal Gear and Zone Of Enders, “A good game is good eventually, but a bad game is bad forever.”

So, YES, I would expect a game to be finished upon its release!!!

I agree a game shouldn’t be released if it isn’t finished but, I don’t want to put the blame on 343i. If the people at 343i were truly working as many hours as they said they were, I refuse to discredit all the hard work that they put into the game and believe it has to be microsofts fault for rushing the release.

some acknowledgement about future fixes and additions would be nice though.

> Ya know, when, back in the old days of gaming, if a game wasn’t done it wasn’t -Yoinking!- released!

Exactly. No one would ever release an incomplete book and then try to patch it up by releasing extra chapters on the internet, just as no one would ever release an incomplete movie and then ask you to watch the final scenes on YouTube. There is no excuse for releasing something that isn’t finished (with the possible exception of “Microsoft made us”, and even then additional material, such as Spartan Ops, should be cut in order to polish the major components of the game).

I haven’t given up on Halo 4, but for right now, I just don’t want to play the multiplayer anymore.

At the very least, a year.

That’s pretty arrogant to think that 343i is not going to fix their own game just because, lord have mercy on your soul, they haven’t “fixed” it within 3-4 weeks. God, it’s amazing they are even pushing out weekly updates because I don’t know many devs that do that.

They are on vacation right now, wait for December we should at least hear something from some person
Right?

I just hope they do what needs to be done.

Spartan Ops Episode of Legend Weekly Challenge
UPDATE: This issue has been resolved.
Upon completion of the Episode of Legend Weekly Challenge, some players did not get a notification that they received 3,000 XP. However, if the challenge showed as completed on the Challenge page, the payout was issued. We are currently investigating why the notification did not appear in-game.

Latency/lag issues when matchmaking with non-regional players
UPDATE: This issue has been resolved.
We are aware and investigating this issue.

Completed Campaign but missing achievements
Upon completing Campaign, some players find they are missing certain achievements. If you pause, you must use the “Resume Campaign” button to resume. If you choose “Rally Point Bravo” or “Rally Point Charlie”, this issue arises. We are investigating but for now, replay the missions from beginning to end using only the “Save and Quit” and “Resume Campaign” options to unlock the relevant achievements.

You consider an update to be switching out one playlist for another?.. i have nothing to say

considering how many complaint threads there are, i shouldn’t need to explain myself any further, I had no idea i was walking into another fanboy trap thread

That’s day one information that does not discuss any current issues. Copy and pasting it did not help in any way either
