Hey guys, so this has been worrying me for a bit now: how long does the day 1, 9 GB patch take for Halo 5? Obviously times will differ a little, but ON AVERAGE how long does it take? I’m very concerned I won’t be able to play it day 1, and this would really suck because I have been hyping this game for quite a while now… Answers appreciated guys!

Yeah, around 10-20 minutes sounds about right. Ballpark for me is around a half an hour, to 40 minutes. Generally it’s within the hour though.
I have 60 down and someone with 50 told me it took them about 40 minutes.

Bought the game on Xbox.com. Turned my console on a few hours later and the entire game was already sitting on my console, including the day one patch.
For me it was very quick, but not everyone has a 155mbps connection.

Dependent on your internet connection. I’m on 12 Mbps and, assuming maximum speed the entire time, will need 100 minutes on the dot.
10-20min sounds about right but as others have posted your connection and the network traffic on your ISP in your area has more of an effect on the speed of the download then the number of people accessing the file on Microsoft’s servers.
Will everyone downloading at the same time cause a slow down in downloads?
Depends on your personal download speed. Go to settings, network, detailed network statistics and wait for the top left number to show. That’s your xbox’s current speed. quick google search will tell you how long it will take 9 GB to download at that speed (assuming it doesn’t change, which it does very slightly).
Just know your internet speed.

Are you installing off the disc or downloading the update? Those are two different things.
