How long does the 2nd disk installation take?
Depending how long it takes, I will probably play around with a few weapons in custom games first or jump right into the campaign.
Less than 10 minutes apparently.
Its also a good idea to install both

Disc 1: Campaign
Disc 2: Multiplayer and Spartan Ops
Idea is that you install disc 2 completely, then you just play everything from disc 1 and disc 2 is no longer needed.
It doesn’t take that long. When you start up the game with Disc 2, it installs it in-game, so during the installation, you get a nice slideshow and music to go with the short wait.

Can I play cooperative co-op campaign online without installing the 2nd disk?
We installed disk two at work today (GameStop) for our midnight release tournament. It took about 8 minutes to install.
By the way, it’s really fun. My boss and I tried out a few maps to see which one would be the best for our tournament (we chose Abandon) and we had a blast. It feels much more like halo 3 than reach.
Also, I destroyed him >:).
Question…so if I were to download disc 2 onto my hard drive…and then play from disc 1…
could i use disc 2 on another xbox to just play multiplayer? if so…WIN!

You have to install disk 2. The gamespot review said so.
