Hey guys! I was wondering how long you guys think Halo 5 will last as a game? Do you think like in 2050 they will still be making Halo? If 343i is still making Halo in future there should be some knew main characters; I don’t think people are going to want to play as master chief for Halo 10, 11 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, etc… It would be cool though if they added knew aliens.
Halo is a pretty cool guy; eh kills aliens and doesn’t afraid of anything.

It’d be cool to see prequels and stuff. Definitely not interested in the direction they decided to take Halo 4 and 5 story-wise.

This is my fear also. What made halo great was the chief and his campaigns, you got the real true one hero feeling. That has been completely abolished with Halo 5 campaign and honestly made a tear come to my eye :’(
I’d rather see Halo die then see it get trampled over and spat on. Ultimately though I think Halo is a very inspiring series, just look at the fan fiction and machinimas, the games themselves never get old. Ultimately I want Halo to succeed and triumph over other franchises.

I think halo will die out around the 9th installment of the main series, I really don’t see it lasting much after that without being turned into a withered out husk of the game it used to be and simply being dragged along by Microsoft for a quick buck
I know there was an article somewhere that the domain names for Halo 7,8,9 were already copyrighted or something like that. I’ll see if I can find it. I mean just because its halo doesnt mean it has to be about master chief. I’m a fan boy but I wouldnt mind getting some halo inspired games like republic commando, more RTS’s, Battlefield type Halo’s or even just more prequels.
Like play as chief before he became chief.
I think it will be around as long as Microsoft makes a gaming console. 343 was created specifically for Halo and is one of the flagship games for Microsoft to advertise as an Xbox exclusive

Specially if Locke is to replace him.
As long as they make the right choices, like keep Halo close to its roots, keep seasoned players while attracting new ones (Something Halo 3 did well but Halo 4 and arguably 5 didn’t do well) and not turn it into cash-cow game like Destiny, SWBF, or COD, it can go on for awhile (unless Xbox goes under, then it kinda goes under too)
COD is definitely going downhill, mainly because Infinity Ward didn’t stick to its roots with Advanced Warfare, I don’t want 343i to pull the same stunt
It should be fine as long as 343 pulls it together around this time.

Agreed. I’ll certainly be upset.
Not much longer at the rate the last 4 major releases have alienated now ex-Halo players. Maybe they should stop trying to chase the audiences of other games and actually return to Halo’s roots. Or we could just continue on this consistent downhill slide. Whichever.
Well, they’re going to have a game called HA10 at some point, in an attempt to be clever with the title of the tenth Halo.
But then it’ll be perfect when they slap the 343 emblem right below HA10.
So when pronounced, it actually reads “Hatin 343”.
And I will buy it used (so 343 doesn’t get my money) and I will frame it.
If Halo 6 doesn’t succeed, I think it will begin a irreversible decline for Halo. A failure of Halo 6 will destroy the remnants of the original fan base and fail to attract any new players thus rendering the Halo franchise irrelevant. Of course, the reputation and brand name created by the original trilogy will continue to sustain it, but the brand name can only get Halo so far until it finally succumbs to the toll taken by repeated half-Yoinked!- titles.
Umm…I would definitely want to play as Master Chief every Halo.
