I’ve just been curious on how long it took to get to the Ark from the portal on Earth. Did it take a while to get there like in Halo 2 where it took like a week for the Foruneer ship to get to Earth or was it instant?
I believe I read somewhere where it took about 2 months. I think.
I think it varies pretty heavily depending on a number of factors.
- Truth left Earth in November 2552 and arrived at the Ark in December, so one month - ONI sent an automated ship there after the Battle of Installation 00 in March 2553 and it arrived in November of the same year, so that was eight months travel time. - During “Hunters in the Dark”, the Mayhem crew estimated it would take weeks to get there, possibly two months as was stated above, but it took only a couple hours thanks to some Forerunner tech being employed on the Ark to bring the ship there faster - Atriox went to the Ark the “old fashioned way” and used just slip space drives on the Enduring Conviction and I think I heard somewhere that it took him several months to get there. Idk if this counts toward answering your question though, since he didn’t use the Excession Site at Voi to get thereHope this helps!
