I recently bought that Halo XB1 Slim bundle and finally got around to at least installing Halo 5. Whereas the MCC took over 12 hours to install (including all of the updates, I am sure), Halo 5 took something like 10, so not much quicker than MCC which had four full games in it. It now makes me wonder how long it took to install for other people. I completely understand that internet strength and speed is a huge factor in this, but the fact that H5 only took a few hours less than the MCC to install is pretty strange, IMO.
I will say that Halo 5’s download time was absolutely atrocious for me. First time I tried, the download froze at around 90% after waiting several hours. Then, I tried redownloading. I believe it got stuck at around 16% after waiting two or three hours. The third time I tried downloading, I went to sleep sometime after it began, so I’m thinking it took at least 7 hours to fully download.
TL; DR:
Probably took 8 hours minimum.

It didn’t take anywhere near that long for me, but that was also nearly a year ago and there have been many updates since then. Halo 5 is up to 91.5 gb for me, so it will take a while depending on your connection.
Congratulations by the way, I know you were vacillating for a while about upgrading.
actually on about an hour for me…got really good internet and i use a wired connection instead of wireless
An hour. I bought the game at launch and I have really good internet.
Not sure. I set up the download then went to bed, got up the next morning, and it was done!
Took about an hour on launch night. My internet is fine, download speed was 20 or so at the time. Wired, of course.

If my download froze at all I never knew if it did or not because I started it in the evening and let it run over night. I know that I had a few issues installing the MCC, where it would say there was some sort of issue, but it seemed like plugging in an ethernet cord helped keep it consistent.

I bet that my installation put the updates into account, hence the long installation time. Just interesting that, with updates, it took almost as long as the MCC for me.
Yeah, it really was the MCC and the tiny size of the Slim that won me over (it’s actually about the same size as my 360, maybe not as deep). I beat HCEA a few days ago and it ran so smoothly in both graphic modes. The first level of H2A also felt so good to play with full resolution and framerate. I had been playing H2 on my 360 before and it is a humongous jump in quality, even when I put the original graphics on.

Nice! I also ended up plugging in an ethernet cord since, for some reason, my XB1S doesn’t hold onto wireless connectivity as well as my PS4 does (have never had a disconnect with my PS4, and I’ve owned that for almost a year now).
A few hours when I downloaded H5, I’ve also had it since release though.
About 2 hours.
2 hours, which is an amazing improvement since MCC that took 17 hours to install.
I think 12 hours. And my internet is very slow.

I got Halo 5 back when the first update came out, with the XB1 Halo 5 Guardians edition. It was 60 some GB I believe, and took over three days to fully install. Yes, my internet is that bad. I don’t know why you’re asking this. But it is not very strange that H5 took hours less than MCC, because the internet speed changes occasionally. (Yeah, it’s not constant).
It took me 4 days.
My internet wasn’t working properly and I kid you not, I had .01 mbps down
Probably took a good 7 hours.
Depends on your download speed… The game is huge now so it will take many hours to download at whatever speed you have. I have 25mbps down and it takes me about 1 1/2 hrs give or take, to download a 7 gig update.

It’s too -Yoinking!- long is how long it is. I started the download yesterday evening around 7:30 left it going all -Yoinking!- night and it’s still only at 89% PS4 is so much -Yoinking!- better. I love certain Xbox games but I’m beyond happy I switched man. -Yoink!- Xbox. Get with the times games shouldn’t take anywhere near this long to install. You know how long it takes a PS4 exclusive??? Like 20 mins. Maybe an hour or two for the update.

Its probably your connection. If you disconnect from live it will install faster.
