pretty sure i got a quit ban, how long do they last? also id like to point out that quit bans are -Yoinking!- stupid? idk whta anyone else thinks, its dumb tho, considering replacements are easy as hell, i get thrown into games all the time so whats the deal 343?

yeah they do because iv heard about it all week, its the only reason id be banned, and i can still do other stuff, just cant play matchmaking, usually its a short ban i just dont know how long

They are 60 minutes long. They are also incredibly stupid and controlled by an automated program.
Quit bans are great. It’s stupid that people will quit out of your game after 1 or 2 deaths because they aren’t playing well. That leaves the rest of their team in a huge hole when they quit.
I’d rather accommodate the people that stick out a whole game, than rewarding people who continuously quit out, screwing over their teammates.
League of Legends has a similar concept, where you can’t join a new game, until your previous game (the one you quit from) has ended. This method discourages quitters as well.

LOL dude people join in games practically instantly , i get thrown into midway games non stop, i think its stupid, ppl quit for many reasons, lag etc, or maybe they are sick of playing the same stupid maps people vote CONSTANTLY. its pointless. but ill take a 60 minute ban from quitting, i could care less
Long enough for you to go play another game and be more entertained by that resulting in you no longer playing Halol4 aka 1h long ban.

I’m not gonna finish a game where I continuously teleport all over the map and no new host is found.
If I stay in a laggy match I won’t be much help to my team anyways, cause one of the team keeps on running in to walls and is an easy target.
If the quit ban didn’t penalize people leaving due to lag, it would be great. But now it’s just kinda stupid.
I wish people would consider “other” reasons people might leave games apart from being sore losers.

which happens ALOT too. goes to the black screen with the scoreboard for literally 5-10 minutes. friggen ridiculous man
quit bans are pure BS. why are they quit bans since theres JiP ?
i surely won’t play a match where i get thrown in a team which
loses the match 330 - 670. game is 2/3 over, it is no fun knowing
i can’t win the game, it is no fun if the game ends in 2-3 minutes,
it is no fun starting with normal weapons where all enemies already
got power-weapons from ordnances.
but thats what a game about: FUN. if i dont have fun because
of lags, because my teammates suck, then i quit. if i see
that both teams are equal, or at last nearly equal & there are no lags,
then i’ll play and i’m not pissed if i loose. also like mentioned,
it can be very annoying getting thrown in the same map or even the same
team you’ve played / quit before.
Yes. And that’s why you don’t get quit bans for 2-3 quits in an hour. You have to continuously quit. I’ve quit 3 times in a 60 min period and haven’t gotten banned. I’ve also had to quit due to lag and black screens… But it doesn’t happen that frequently.
They have a good system in place.
Quit bans only kick in if you repeatedly quit matches, and we are talking more then just a few times due to laggy games, so that excuse is just Yoinked!
1 hour ban…unless you have been triggering them all the time in that case it may be longer
If you are getting repeatedly bad lag, chances are, its your own connection so restart your home internet kit instead of constantly quitting and earning a time out
you have 87 incomplete games and you get banned… i have 118 on my account and never banned. what a great system

I got banned mid game. A screen came up telling me I couldn’t play any more which got me killed as well. Seriously, mid game, then banned? I’m rather confused, and very annoyed.
By the way, the fact that the Halo community are notorious for being absolute jerks, yet you seem to be trying to hide that glaringly obvious fact in this forum borders on sin.
The game and everyone that plays it are terrible (yes, that includes me) and my only consolation is the fact that we’ll all eventually be dead.
Please do not revive extremely old threads without just cause.
