So Jorge is still alive and even on Earth…just not Halo’s earth.
To explain this to you all, recently a new gamemode for Killer Instinct has been released called Shadow Lords! In Shadow Lords Gargos the master of The Astral Plain and of course The Shadow Lord has caused massive amounts of temporal displacement across the universes with his power causing people like Rash from battletoads, one of the Arbiters and General RAAM to appear in game. (yes that’s the canon explanation to why they’re there.)
They all have different reasons for staying such as the Arbiter believes that that Gargos is a powerful entity and left unchecked could become a threat to the Covenant but also because a Monitor was also pulled thought time and space and it’s name is Fractured Ward. Due to some teleportation errors Fractured Ward was trapped in slipspace and when Gargos’ invasion started he was thrown to Earth like the unnamed Arbiter who I shall fall Fursomgoelmugen.
Since Shadow Lords has just come out I don’t have all of his lore nor do I think anyone else does but there could be some serious -Yoink- going on with Gargos’ invasion. Perhaps some more intel lies within Fursomgoelmuegen’s lore’s as well but so far all I know about him is that he’s a Arbiter somewhat close to the current Halo time line since he knows what an unngoy is.
So Gargos’ influence clearly ignores time and space so, hear me out. Could he be the real reason Cortana survived. I KNOW, I KNOW but think about it. How did the Domain survive the Halo Array? Gargos’ shadow energy kept in stable through time and space. How did Stacker and Chips get off Halo? Gargos’ energy fluctuated when the ring exploded pulling them both to safety. How did Jul M’dama not die. Locke’s knife moments before it hit Jul was warped into The Astral Plain. Gargos warped it back because it kept flying around slashing his face that’s why he has those scars. So Locke instead of stabbing Jul just gave him a vicious bop on the head knocking him unconscious. That blood spray wasn’t blood, it was SHADOW ENERGY!
